Photographer’s Assistants

Rose and I have been trying to sell a few things on eBay these last couple of weeks and my job has been to take the photographs. I remembered I had a couple of white boards for matting photographs and thought I would use those for a background. I laid one flat and propped the second one at a 90 degree angle. Once I did that the cats were all over it like I just introduced them to a new kind of catnip.

Of course there was competition and conflict.

Photo Friday: The Investigators

I cannot open the laundry room door or any closet door without one or more cats wanting to go inside to perform a thorough investigation. Recently both Chris and Frankie were investigating a closet but I have yet to get their full report.

This is my investigation Chris! Find your own closet.

Calm down Frankie. I just want to smell your face.

Let’s call a temporary truce… Okay, agreed.

Look Frankie! This is where I buried your predecessor. Ha, ha, ha… Just kidding.

I think there might be a secret stash of mice in here. If I only had opposable thumbs.

Okay Frankie, I’m bored. What do you want to investigate now?

Who’s Afraid of the Vacuum?

I used to think that all cats were afraid of the vacuum, I even created a design related to that (see here). Sure, Chris was not afraid, but Chris has never been an ordinary cat. Last year I posted a video of Chris ignoring me while I vacuumed around him. At the time I thought it was impressive because cats run and hide when the see the vacuum cleaner. Don’t they? I’m not so sure anymore.

Recently I was vacuuming the patio and both Chris and Frankie seemed completely oblivious to the noisy vacuuming going on around them.

Where was Puck while this was going on? Under the bed. Maybe it’s a gold cat thing.

This and That

Today I just want to catch up on a few things that are each too small to dedicate a blog post to.

First, I entered a photo in Bailey Boat Cat’s photo contest on his Facebook page to promote his new book that is coming out on Thursday and I shamelessly need your help.  Please go to facebook.com/baileyboatcat and then scroll down until you see this photo:

Once you find it just click the “like” button. You could also leave a comment if you want to. Also, while you are on Facebook, you can go to Facebook.com/badcatchris and like Chris’s page.

Bad Cat Chris Kindle eBookOkay, now that the important stuff is out of the way I want to mention that Chris’s e-book “Bad Cat Chris: The Baddest Cat You’ll Ever Love” is only 99 cents for a limited time. I actually lowered the price a while ago and had a senior moment  forgot to mention it so I will keep it this price for another couple of weeks. The link above is for Amazon Kindle but you can also get it at Barnes and Noble, Smashwords and other retailers.

Finally, Frankie got out the other day on another “Big Adventure.” (Read about his first adventure here.) He ran out the door as we were coming in despite our best efforts to contain him. This time he went in more of a straight line and brought us even farther from home than last time. I thought we were going to lose him when he went into the fenced back yard of a condo building where we could not follow. Fortunately he came back out and we eventually got him when he hid under a car. I think he just gave up from exhaustion.

Photo Friday: Temporary Cease Fire

Chris still torments Frankie which surprises us because he never treated Puck that way. I think Frankie is not as willing to cede to Chris’s authority as Puck is so Chris must feel that he has to show him again and again who’s boss. It could also be that Chris wants to show us how bad of a cat he can be. Sometimes though, there is peace in the house.
