Floki’s Hidden Stash

Every morning, my wife plays with Floki while she checks her messages, email and Facebook. She will roll up a little wad of paper and throw it. Floki will then jump off the bed, chase down the wad of paper and attack. After a little playing, he brings the paper back for more fun.

This leads to little paper balls all over the house. Yesterday I found one in the water bowl. Also yesterday I found a hidden stash of paper balls in our hallway closet. I don’t know. Perhaps he is saving them for a potential paper shortage.

Does anybody else have a cat that likes paper balls? How about one that plays fetch like a dog?

Photo Friday: Floki Discovers the Sink

Our kitten, Floki, typically hangs out with Rose in the bedroom every morning until she goes into the bathroom to get ready for work. That is where Chris sometimes takeover and lies on the counter while Rose is putting her make up on. Sometimes he will pull some of her make up close to his chest where Rose can’t get it. The other day Floki was on the counter instead of Chris and he discovered that he fits inside the sink.

I don’t think a day goes by when our cats don’t entertain us in some way.

Love, Fight, Sleep: A Cat’s Life

The other day, I saw Chris lying on the bed with Floki, and the two of them were washing each other. I got my camera and started recording before the affection turned to fighting. The fighting was short and, following a brief period of tension, they both fell asleep.

I’m trying to picture humans doing that. Imagine you are in bed with your spouse, being all lovey-dovey, when suddenly, a big fight erupts. Fifteen seconds later, the fight is over and, after a brief moment of tension, you fall asleep in each other’s arms. Can’t imagine it? Me either.

Here is the video I am talking about, but please forgive the quality. The camera’s auto focus was being a little crazy. Next time, I will have to use the manual setting, if I can find it.

The Tolerant Kitty

It seems Floki has found a playmate in Frankie. Sure, he will also play with Puck and Chris but Chris is easily annoyed by Floki and Puck… well, I’m not sure why Puck doesn’t play with him too much.

Frankie likes playing with Puck. I often see one chasing the other through the house and then the roles reverse until they are both down in a winner-take-all wrestling championship.

Recently I saw Floki playing with Frankie’s tail and Frankie did not seem annoyed by it at all. At least he wasn’t annoyed for a couple of minutes, but even the best of us have our limits.

Compare that to this video with Floki and Chris that you probably have seen already.

Floki Loves His Mouse

Our kitten Floki just loves playing with his mouse. Actually, it isn’t even his mouse. Chris took a liking to it long ago and now Floki thinks it’s his. He plays with other toys to but this particular catnip mouse gets a lot of play time. It seems it is always in a different place when I see it.
