Love, Fight, Sleep: A Cat’s Life

The other day I say Chris lying on the bed with Floki and the two of them were washing each other. I got my camera and started recording before the affection turned to fighting. The fighting was short and, following a brief period of tension, they both fell asleep.

I’m trying to picture humans doing that. Imagine you are in bed with your spouse being all lovey-dovey when suddenly, a big fight erupts. Fifteen seconds later the fight is over and, after a brief moment of tension, you fall asleep in each others arms. Can’t imagine it? Me either.

Here is the video I am talking about, but please forgive the quality. The camera’s auto focus was being a little crazy. Next time I will have to use the manual setting, if I can find it.

That is just so darn cute! Even the “fighting” is more play fighting and fun and they obviously enjoy each other’s company. I loved the way Chris kept poking Floki with his foot…..HAHA…..

Chris and Floki are so cute together! I love how cats can just go from play to sleep and back seamlessly. I would just love to be able to fall asleep that quickly! That is a true kitty talent.

Rumpy and Einstein are the champions of that in our house. Everyday they get into a fight, do a tense stare down and then sleep or one sleeps and the other wanders away. MOL
The rest of us don’t do this but love watching those two MOL

Despite the tail action, Mom says this looks like play fighting. Every night before dinner, Mauricio or C.J. will lick the other’s head, then there will be an ear bite and then a full scale wrestling match with spitting, hissing and growling. Next to that, Chris and Flocki’s actions looked pretty tame. XOCK, Lily Olivia Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
