Here is another picture from last weekend’s cold snap. The cats spent most of the weekend keeping warm on our bed. I love this picture because Floki is sticking his tongue out as if to say “Haha, we were here first.”
Today is Kiss a Ginger Day. It was started in 2009 as part of a Facebook group by Derek Forgie. He wanted to counter the “Kick a Ginger” day that takes place in November. It was meant for Ginger humans but why not cats too?
Here are pictures of Frankie and me from a couple of years ago. I thought I shared these already but it seems I did not. Technically, Frankie is more blonde than Ginger but let’s not split Ginger hairs. Besides, Chris is ginger so I’ll just give him a kiss today.

We don’t get cold weather very often in the Tampa Bay area, but when we do, it’s during the weekend. Saturday morning started out at 70 degrees but dropped all day until Sunday morning when it was 36. It was cold Sunday too and currently, at 8 a.m. Monday morning, it is 41 degrees, but it will improve throughout the work week, of course.
We have an old heater and don’t trust it so we leave it off at night, which means our bed has extra blankets on it to keep us warm. That does not go unnoticed by our cats who congregated there most of the weekend.

This picture looks like two cats sleeping together but it is actually Chris giving Floki a good washing.
Sometimes choosing the right cat toy to play with can be a difficult decision, especially when your two favorites toys, the Turbo Scratcher and Play Tunnel, are next to each other. Floki solved this problem by not deciding and played with both of them at the same time.

If you want to attract cats (without food) you can either make the bed or bring in laundry, fresh from the dryer. Sometimes I fold the stuff that they are not lying on and then leave the rest for them to enjoy, at least until they get bored with it and leave.
I know it is hard to believe but I do take pictures that don’t include cats. I believe you might enjoy seeing some of my photographs so I started a photo blog at charleshuss.wordress.com. I would like it if you follow me there too, that way my pictures won’t be floating through cyberspace, lonely and unseen.

To discourage Puck from pooping on the sofa, I put the cat’s tunnel on it, but didn’t expect Floki to suddenly become interested in playing with it.
Naturally, he liked being inside of the tunnel, peeking out the little window…
But he also liked hanging out the end of it.
It is a great place to stare at the ceiling while contemplating life.
A few strings don’t hurt either.
Even tunnel cats can enjoy a little sunshine.
When the fun is all over, the tunnel is a great place to take a nap.
It is rare to get a photo of three of our cats playing nice. Photographing all four together like that would be like capturing a flying unicorn alongside his pet dragon.
