We have had a Turbo Scratcher for years and it has gone through many cats. It is one of the best cat toys we have ever had and most recently it was one of Floki’s two favorite toys, the other being the three-way cat tunnel. We brought both toys with us to West Virginia but came back with only the tunnel. There wasn’t much room in the car but I probably could have squeezed the Turbo Scratcher in with us but I just didn’t think about it.
The other day my wife reminded me that I needed to order another one so I looked on Amazon and found this one (affiliate link). It arived Saturday and as soon as I took it out of the package Chris was interested in it. Of course, it may be because I added a little of the included catnip.
Floki finally did get to play with his toy after Chris was done hogging it. By then Chris was more interested in the box that it came in.
That of course got Floki interested too.
Victory at last. Now things can get back to normal.
I think the one cat toy in our house that has really stood the test of time is the Turbo Scratcher. The one we have now is one of two that we bought well over fifteen years ago (I don’t know what happened to the other one). It has not only lasted for years, it has also remained one of the most played with toys in the house.
Not all of our cats have been interested in it. Some have ignored it completely while others played with it occasionally, but there has always been one cat that goes back to it again and again. When Chris was young, he was the one. Then it was Puck and now Floki loves the Turbo Scratcher.
I often hear the sound of Floki playing with it but I never have a camera around. When I do go and get my camera or phone, as soon as I come back he is done playing. I was lucky to get the above video before Christmas and then promply forgot I had it until now.
Do you have any pet toys that have stood the test of time? I would love to hear about them.
Sometimes choosing the right cat toy to play with can be a difficult decision, especially when your two favorites toys, the Turbo Scratcher and Play Tunnel, are next to each other. Floki solved this problem by not deciding and played with both of them at the same time.
Check out what Puck does halfway through the video.
In case you missed it, the toys are on the sofa to keep Puck from pooping there.
We cleaned the house the other day so I picked up the cats toys and Turbo Scratcher and put them on the bed so I could vacuum. At that point, Frankie decided he wanted to play with the Turbo Scratcher.
