Frankie has been a bad boy lately but today I want to focus on something good, like his eyes.

Photo Friday: Computer Repair Cat
My computer has been down since Tuesday . Thankfully, Puck was there to investigate the problem. Unfortunately he couldn’t fix it.
I think the only fix is to wipe the hard drive and start fresh but I hesitate to do that because I haven’t backed it up in over a month. For now I am using my laptop but my photos and graphics software are on the desktop computer. Maybe I can get Chris to look at it.
The Closet King
The other day Frankie tried to get into Rose’s closet. He managed to pop it open slightly but could not get it open far enough to get inside. It was a good effort but the door doesn’t slide easily so I couldn’t blame him for failing. That’s when Chris stepped in. I imagined him saying, “Move aside, let me show you how it’s done.”
Photo Friday: Making Biscuits
We have a “woobie” blanket on a chair in the living room that Chris has taken a liking to. When he naps, we often see him on the blanket. Recently, Frankie has taken a liking to the blanket too, but not for napping. Instead he holds it in his mouth and kneads it. Often we come home from work and see the blanket pulled to the floor with part of it sticking up, most likely the part he was holding in his mouth.

Was That a Purr I Heard?
Before I start this story. I want to mention a couple of unrelated things. First, I want to wish all American veterans a Happy Veterans Day and a big thanks for your service. Second, I want to mention Chris’s Facebook page got over 1000 likes since my last post. Thank you Ellen Pilch from 15 and Meowing for like #999 and Kjelle Bus Möller from Kjelle Bus aka Charlie Rascal for #1000.
The other day Chris was lying on my lap and I was shocked to hear the faint sound of a purr. For Chris, that is amazing because he doesn’t purr. He tries to purr but it always comes out as heavy breathing.
The joke around here is that his purrer is broken but I’m pretty sure that what I heard was an actual purr. Could this be an early sign that Chris is turning into a normal cat? If so, he still has a long way to go.
Photo Friday: Who Moved My Bowl?
The weather here has finally started to cool down so recently, Rose and I decided to eat dinner on the patio. To make room on the table, we set Frankie’s bowl on the floor while we ate.
Frankie just didn’t know what to think about that. He climbed inside the bowl and just sat there, like he didn’t know what to do next. Eventually he decided it just wasn’t the same way down on the floor so he got out and went into the house.

Vacation is Over
We just returned from a week-long cruise on Saturday. We were supposed to go to the Virgin Islands but a hurricane forced us to different ports, but that is another story. By the time the cruise was over, we were more than ready to get home to see our boys.
We had no phone service for a week so we had to trust that our cats were being taken care of. Service returned Saturday morning when we arrived at Port Canaveral but we had no messages from the cat sitter. After we finally left the ship, Rose got a text from our backup cat sitter with a photo of each of the cats but no real explanation as to why she was there. At least we knew they were okay, that is all we cared about. We learned later that our cat-sitter had to go out of town that morning and just missed one visit.
When we got home Chris, Puck and Frankie were waiting for us at the door. It was like we had never left. They were happy to see us and wanted me to open a can of food for them right away. Even thought it wasn’t dinnertime, I couldn’t say no. I thought there was a small chance that at least one of them would be angry with us for leaving them but that didn’t happen.
Later I noticed that Chris had gained weight while we were gone. I have been concerned lately because he has plumped up a bit and I have tried to cut back on the dry food that I leave out. Chris does not eat enough of the wet food because he is addicted to the dry food. I have been slowly reducing his dry food in an attempt to reverse that problem, but my fear that something might happen to the cat-sitter promoted me to put out a gravity feeder in addition to their regular bowls.
Well, Chris seemed to take advantage of that. As I saw him lying on the floor like a beached whale, I petted his belly and said something about his weight gain. He didn’t like that. He growled and tried to bite me. I tried talking to him to calm him down but he kept growling at me so I just left him alone. Later he came and lied on my lap like nothing happened.
He also wasted no time in getting on the counter to beg for kitty treats and catnip. I guess everything is back to normal.
Photo Friday: The Corkscrew Kitty
We’ve seen Frankie sleeping like a pretzel. Now here is Puck doing his corkscrew impression. How is this comfortable?
