My wife and I usually sit up in bed for a while before turning in. This gives the cats time to visit with us before we have to lock them out. I have to cover myself with the blanket because Chris can be quite annoying with his scratching, which is why we have to lock them out.
Here is a post from April 2016 for Throwback Thursday. It was when Puck was having overgrooming issues. I remember this actually cured him of that problem.
Puck’s last vet visit left us with some hope. We went to a new place called The Animal & Bird Medical Center of Palm Harbor for Puck’s over-grooming problem. The vet put him on a limited ingredient diet and didn’t push the steroids and antibiotics that most vets use to solve all problems that cats have. He did suggest antibiotics as an option but did not push it. He also suggested a Feliway diffuser to help with Puck’s stress, which we bought and plugged in between the Catio and living room.
Unfortunately, after giving the diet and Feliway a good amount of time to work, we saw little improvement. I then tried changing their water and gave them bottled spring water. Puck seemed to improve slightly after that but then got worse again. I hesitated to bring him back to the vet for fear that they would use the nuclear option…

I have known for a while that cats learn behaviors from other cats. In our house, Chris is always the teacher. Puck and Frankie learned about getting on my shoulders from Chris. Puck learned how to get on top of cabinets from Chris. Frankie learned from Chris that hiding under cars prevents capture. This morning, Frankie learned the lazy way to eat breakfast from Chris.
I was transferring photos and videos from my phone to my computer this morning when I came across this video I took in early January. It was right after the new Roomba vacuum cleaner that my wife ordered arrived. Note that this is an affiliate link and if you buy something I will be able to live a life of luxury, assuming, of course, you spend forty million dollars.
Chris is still having trouble with his ears so he is at the vet getting another antibiotic treatment.
Before we brought him in, both Floki and Frankie were inside his carrier, but I only managed to photograph Frankie.
I am currently at the vet waiting for Chris.

Chris is the most affectionate cat I have ever had. He is also more affectionate than any dog I have ever had. He spends a good part of his day on my lap, on Rose’s lap or curled up with Frankie or Puck.
I’m not complaining, I love that about him, but part of that affection is an unusual need to bite, especially my nose. Fortunately, the biting is only a small part of his affection but it is quite annoying and the reason all the cats get locked out of the bedroom at night.
Now I’d like to hear about your most affection pet.
I saw these two cats today at a Pet Supermarket in Largo, Florida. I was struck by how the ginger was lying completely on top of the white and black cat.
Their chart said they are a bonded pair and must stay together. They are both about 8 months old so they may also be littermates.
Here is Chris the famous lizard hunter for throwback Thursday.
Chris slipped past me and out the door twice on Sunday. The first time he caught a lizard right away. Even though Chris has gained some weight lately, he is still better at catching lizards, and everything else, than all the other cats we have ever had. When he does catch a lizard, he wants to immediately bring it in the house.
I’m not sure why he has to bring his catch inside but he will just sit at the door with a lizard hanging from his mouth until someone lets him in. That was not going to happen Sunday and I tried to get him to let it go but he was not up for that.
Does anyone else have a cat that has to bring their catch inside?
I got an old 120 film camera for Christmas. I wanted to test it, but the film cost, processing, scanning, and postage two ways meant each of the twelve photos cost about $4. I didn’t want to use them up taking cat photos, but I figured one wouldn’t hurt.
