Photo Friday: My Blogging Assistant

Working on a blog post can be quite a daunting task. It is not coming up with Ideas or finding the right words that are the biggest problem. The hardest part is seeing the screen or typing when a 12 pound cat is standing in front of you or lying across one arm and part of the keyboard. I’m sure many of you reading this can relate.

Notice the keyboard is pushed away because Chris was either stepping on it or lying on it.

Even writing this post has been a chore. My little assistant has done everything but actually help. He started by lying on my right arm, forcing me to push the keyboard away and type left-handed. I then moved him to my lap, which sometimes works but this time he jumped down and started biting my legs. He then got up and decided to help me type. He is now back on my lap allowing me to finish this post.

As soon as I finished that last sentence he got up to stare down Frankie. He must have noticed I was done.

Photo Friday: Puck’s Perch

Our cat Puck has a few favorite spots in our house. Of of them is on the ledge between the kitchen and living room. From there he has a cat’s-eye view of most of the house. It is also a good place to get attention from one of the two-legged creatures that will occasionally walk by. The ledge is also a great place for jumping to the china cabinet, another of Pucks favorite spots.

Photo Friday: Closet Cat

Since we have had Chris, there has been countless times when he has managed to get himself shut inside a closet. He just can’t resist an open closet door, even if it is open for just a few seconds. Usually we see him go in but not always. To make matters worse, he always manages to climb up into the darkest recesses of the closet. Now, when we leave the house, we do a cat count.

Hey! You didn’t count to ten! (Without the flash, he is hard to see up there.)

More Outdoor Fun: The Video

I wanted to add a video to my last post but my video software keeps faulting and shutting down. I finally was able to put it together using the software that came with my Canon camera. It’s funny but I did not even know I had it.

This video was taken after I took the photographs and about the time I wanted to get the cats inside but Chris and Puck would have none of it. They were having too much fun and wanted to stay outside and play. If they were kids they would whine a little but eventually listen. Cats don’t listen and need to be chased down, which isn’t easy.

Photo Friday: More Outdoor Fun

Work was slow last Friday so I had the day off. Of course, when that happens I am not allowed to play all day and usually have a honey-do list that involves cleaning the house. I did have some free time though and decided to let Chris out for some fresh air.

Ahh… Grass eating time.

I didn’t want to let Puck out because he is such a pain to catch and bring back in but after seeing the look of rejection on his face I couldn’t refuse him.

You forgot me again!

What? You’re letting me out? Oh boy!

C’mon Puck, let me show you how to have fun outside.

First, you have to get some sun on your belly.

Then we can build a fort.

Puck outside.

I don’t know Chris. I think I just want to go exploring.

I was glad they had a chance to be outside. Puck raced across the yard a few times getting exercise that is difficult to get indoors, although he does do some running around inside. Chris ate some grass, which he likes to do when he is outside. He caught a lizard too, which I did not get a picture of. Both had fun in a safe environment and, as predicted, puck gave me a run for my money when it was time to go inside.
