Sometimes cats lie down on the most uncomfortable looking beds.

Sometimes cats lie down on the most uncomfortable looking beds.

I took Frankie for a walk yesterday. We only occasionally go to the street behind us but when we do, I often see a ginger cat outside one particular house. I don’t remember Frankie ever seeing that cat, but that cat has seen Frankie and is very quiet when he does. I have mentioned before that Frankie is even worse than me when it comes to not noticing things.
Yesterday we walked by while the other ginger cat stood on top of a bird bath. He was probably there getting a drink of water but when he saw us, he froze. Frankie smelled the plants and spent a fair amount of time in front of the house but eventually moved on without a clue who was standing five feet from him.
We crossed the street, and he spent some time smelling plants in front of the house directly across from the cat while the cat watched us. The owner of that house worked on his motorcycle in the driveway, but Frankie didn’t notice him either. After a while Frankie walked back to the cat house and smelled their plants a little more while the other cat watched from his perch on top of the bird bath.

It looks like Frankie is looking at the cat in the photo above, but he doesn’t see him yet. A minute or two later he finally spots him, and this happens.
I turned the camera off and picked up Frankie and walked him away from there. He soon forgot about the other cat and we walked home.
My wife got a great photo of the cats on Wednesday morning. Check out Chris as the caboose.

This post was from July of 2016. Those were fun times.
Here’s wishing everyone a very happy and prosperous new year. Hopefully 2024 won’t go off the rails.

My boss works out of her home which is where I go at 6:15 every workday. When I get there Mr. Bill is on the pool table waiting to greet me. I bought him a cat mat to help make the pool table more comfortable, but he refused to go on it until we turned it upside down.

If I remember the story right, he kept crashing into things when he was young and they would say, “Oh, no! Mr. Bill!” If you are under 50, search YouTube for “Mr. Bill SNL.”
To all our friends who celebrate Christmas. We wish you a day filled with love, laughter, and the joys that make this time of year special. As always, we wish the same for all good people out there, no matter what your beliefs are.

I got in the way back machine and found a photo of Chris on Christmas Eve 2009, his first Christmas with us.

I bet you can imagine what happened next.
I saw something I don’t see too often the other night. Frankie was washing Chris. The photo below was taken at 9:19:20

Four seconds later, I snapped this photo at 9:19:24.

Between the two photos Frankie whacked Chris three or four times on the head. Why this happens, I will never understand.
On another note, My last two books, Identity Crisis and The Last Healer are 75% off on Smashwords until the end of the year. That’s less than two dollars each. If you like eBooks and are not wedded to Amazon, Smashwords may be a good option. Click here for my author page.
It is such a pleasure to see how our cats nap together. In this photo, Frankie is the engine, Chris is the dining car, and Floki is the caboose.

I really think that Chris is the glue that holds everyone together. If something happens to him, I fear we won’t see this anymore.
Note: When I scheduled this post, I set the time and forgot to change the date which is why some of you are seeing it early. I could have deleted it but I’m too lazy to start over.
