I first reviewed the Art of Paws Heated Pet Mat in February 2018. You can read that review here. Since then it has been chiefly used without the heating element. That changed when we spent some time in West Virginia. You can see that story here. Since we returned to Florida the heating element has been packed away and the mat was on one of the cat perches.
I brought in a pile of laundry on Saturday and put it on the bed to fold. Floki immediately made a nest in the laundry and decided to take a nap at that very moment. My wife said he likes the heat and I should plug the heated mat in for them. Since Saturday was a bit chilly, 68 for a high, I thought that was a good idea.
As soon as I plugged it in Chris was on top of it.

Rose thought it should be on the sofa so she moved it.

Soon Frankie was lying next to it. It seemed like he wanted to feel the heat but he did not want to get too close to Chris. It didn’t work. I found Chris with his head on Frankie’s butt. As soon I got my phone to take the picture, he sat up.

After a while, Chris got up to inspect his food bowls and Floki took his spot.

As I write this on Sunday evening Chris is sleeping on the mat. The last time I looked Floki was on it.
Does anyone else have a heated mat or pet bed? Is it popular?
Sammy loved his heated mat when he got older……We haven’t put it out for Teddy – he favors tissue paper over ANYTHING for napping on!
Hugs, Pam
I think cats like the warmth. Maybe you should bring it out and see what happens.
we had a heated bed and the boys love it… not sure if that counts LOL
I’d count it. 😀
This is perfect for the cold days.
I agree.
I have one of those! The mom needs to get it out for me. ~Ernie
The winter is the perfect time.
I have two self heat small beds and one very large bed. Sometimes Tiger uses the small ones but I have the big one put away because they pee d on it.
They like sleeping blankets on the bed.
I wonder why they pee on it.
I don’t have one, but I’m pretty sure I should!
Love and licks,

It is good for winters.
That is one popular mat and everyone sure seems happy to have a turn.
Chris is sleeping on it as I write this.
That is a nice bed. We have a heated blanket I turn on low for them-it is very popular.
That is a big area. I think that would probably attract a whole herd of cats. 🙂
I bought a furry heated throw for the cats last year. They sleep on it without the heat, or with the heat if I’m using it. On the other hand, they are both happy to use my bed warmer with or without me.
Why am I not surprised? 🙂
We chuckled at you considering 68 degrees cool. Kitties Blue have the radiators, and they spend lots of time atop them (some have covers made of wood and others have granite. And then, of course, there are the heated floors in the kitchen and bathrooms. If it was 68, they’d all be on the catio. In my defense, 68 was the high. 😀
Up here, in the Great White North we even have heated mattress pads on the Peeps beds! Queen Nellie used to love to sleep on a regular people heating pad in the winter and when heated pet pads (and beds) became available we bought her one. We used to get her a new one every second year and at one point, there were 3 (enough for 1 for each cat). Now we have one of those heated throws that Peeps use watching TV, but usually it is covered in cats. As soon as I go in to turn on the mattress pad, to warm the bed up for the night, the cats (and Cinnamon) move to my bed. Yes, we use a lot of heated blankets and pads at our house!
If I lived up there I would have heated everything.
We’ve had underfloor heating for the last 9 years and Catorze has never noticed.
I would like that.
