I think the one cat toy in our house that has really stood the test of time is the Turbo Scratcher. The one we have now is one of two that we bought well over fifteen years ago (I don’t know what happened to the other one). It has not only lasted for years, it has also remained one of the most played with toys in the house.
Not all of our cats have been interested in it. Some have ignored it completely while others played with it occasionally, but there has always been one cat that goes back to it again and again. When Chris was young, he was the one. Then it was Puck and now Floki loves the Turbo Scratcher.
I often hear the sound of Floki playing with it but I never have a camera around. When I do go and get my camera or phone, as soon as I come back he is done playing. I was lucky to get the above video before Christmas and then promply forgot I had it until now.
Do you have any pet toys that have stood the test of time? I would love to hear about them.
Sammy’s favorite toy was the furry white mouse that Teddy adopted when he came to live with us. He promptly turned it into a pile of rags by rough-housing with it and I was constantly repairing it until it almost disintegrated. Teddy is not much for toys these days though. Yeeowww banana is his favorite and after a few bunny kicks he moves on to another nap. We do have one of those scratchers but he’s never shown interest in it. PICKY PICKY BOY !!
Hugs, Pam
Floki loves a certain mouse but we have a half dozen of them so I’m not sure that would count. 🙂
We like our nip toys the best. We have a couple of turbo scratchers and we hardly ever use them anymore.
Some cats like them and some don’t. Chris used to love the Turbo Scratcher but now he mostly ignores it.
You are so right, there has been one here forever and we all still whap it from time to time!
I think it is a good toy to have. Plus it doubles as a scratcher.
Boodie used to love one we had. She got bored eventually, though.
That happened to Chris too. So far Floki is still very interested.
Our previous cat, Rascal, had a stuffed sheep that she carried all over the house and played with. Snoops has an equal attraction and carries it around the house. They both treat it as prey and meow when they give it to me.
You must be very special to them.
