Chris’s Eighth Birthday

I missed Chris’s birthday again. For some reason I keep thinking it is on the 18th but it is really the 14th. Anyway, we don’t know is real birthday but celebrate it six months before his Gotcha Day because he was about six months old when we adopted him from the cat shelter.

I thought today I would just re-share some pictures of Chris since his last birthday and later, before I go to work, will pass out kitty treats (Stella and Chewy’s) to celebrate.

Here is Chris last June stopping to smell the flowers

Bad Cat Chris

Here he is in July getting along with Frankie.

In August he had a rare opportunity to be outside at the same time as Frankie. I am sure this is because he escaped as I tried to get out with Frankie.

I bought a new computer in September and Chris got the box . . . that he wouldn’t share.

Also in September he had an eye infection and had to visit the vet for the first time ever, except for shots.

Here he is in October doing his famous “Happy Roll.”

In November he teamed up with Frankie to be bad.

More badness.

Even more badness. November must have been a bad month.

Some goodness in January with Floki.

February, not so good

Here he is in April getting cat hair on my underwear. Not that many people would notice.

Last, but not least, here he is on the day we adopted him, November 14, 2009.

Floki Invades Puck’s Lair

Puck’s favorite spot these days is on top of our china cabinet. This was a favorite spot of Chris’s a few years ago but now that he has gained weight, he can no longer jump up there. Puck can’t jump up there either but he has learned how to use me as an intermediary step. I don’t speak cat so I am not sure how to explain how I know, but when Puck wants to get on the cabinet he somehow communicates that desire to me and I bend down so he can jump on my shoulders. I then walk over to the cabinet and he jumps on top of it.

Floki sees what s going on and I think he put two and two together because on Friday morning he stood on the counter and cried at me. Again, I don’t know how I knew but I bent over and he jumped on my shoulders and I walked him over to the china cabinet where he jumped up and met Puck who was enjoying his morning in peace.

I should have not let Floki interrupt Puck’s peace but I was curios what Floki would do.

When he was ready to get down he didn’t know how. It’s an easy jump to the couch but Floki didn’t know that so he needed my help getting down and somehow I knew that too.

Since then Floki has talked me into getting up there a couple more times but I won’t put him up there with Puck now. He has also learned how to get down

I’m sure others are good at understanding their pets and I’d love to hear your story.
