Several weeks ago I wrote a post called Rebuilding Burnt Bridges where I talked about how Chris tormented Frankie for weeks after we adopted him but then had a change of heart and decided he wanted to be friends with Frankie. Unfortunately, that came too late and Frankie didn’t trust him. Not only that, whenever Chris tried to be nice, Frankie would attack him.
Since that post Chris has continued in his efforts to make peace and lately I have seen signs that things are getting better. They still fight, and Frankie is by no means ready to be Chris’s best buddy, but there are occasions when Chris moves in close to Frankie and Frankie doesn’t attack him. Indeed, sometimes he doesn’t leave either. I know it is not much but it is much better than what we have been used to seeing. Chris may be a bad cat but he has a good heart and sometimes it shows.
Very encouraging and GREAT photos!!! I believe an “understanding” has been reached……
Hugs, Sammy
An “understanding” is a good word.
Well whadya know, the two of them might end up as best of buddies (though at this stage somewhat doubtful, I have my fingers crossed! :D)
My fingers are crossed too. I don’t expect best buddies but buddies would be great.
I think a resolution is at hand..perhaps they have been smoking the peace nip 🙂 hugs Fozziemum
Bev, you are so funny. Smoking the peace nip. Hahahaha 😀
Haahaaahah 🙂
We never realized how much Chris and Frankie look like each other. Both of these photos are precious and should be cherished for catching a special moment. That kind of thing happens here on rare occasions as well. Always warms Mom’s heart. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
It is very good to see and yes they look a lot alike. Frankie is lighter but I get confused when I see them separately sometimes. Especially in low light.
Baby steps!!!!! Progress!
That’s all I can hope for.
Sometimes it takes us kitties a long time to warm up to each other! With lots of bumps along the way.
I have noticed that. 🙂
Awwww so glad to hear things seem to improve !
Thanks
These are some very good signs. 🙂
Yes, I’m hopeful.
That’s fantastic to see! Sometimes it takes a long time for “water to find its level” between two cats. A very long time. But maybe peace is finally settling in. We hope so!
Who knows. A month from now they could be washing each other.
Reblogged this on Bad Cat Chris and commented:
For Throwback Thursday, I want to share a post which was the turning point of Chris and Frankie’s relationship. It was August, 2014, six months after we adopted Frankie and the first time the two boys were able to lie together without fighting.
I can only imagine how that made your heart smile!
Very much so. 🙂
Sometimes the best you can hope for is tolerance. My human had two cats in the 1980s and 1990s who loathed each other, but kept a rather disgruntled truce.
I guess they are not too much unlike people after all.
