I think cats are genetically programmed to climb inside boxes. Everyone has seen it. Nevertheless, it is still cute so I thought I would share a couple of pictures of Chris recently. This box had some paper on the bottom which made it especially appealing.

Yup, Oscar is the same, totally loves his boxes. Hides in them and then grabs you when you walk past (and least expect it). Surprisingly good aim for a blind cat. Chris looks so utterly adorable in those photos. I’m impressed by his ability to fit in there, and also desire to stay in there 😉 Julia
Thanks Julia. I think it is funny that Oscar will grab you when you walk by. I’m just curios how he finds the box and knows it is something to climb into.
It’s very sweet! He’s always exploring his environment so he knows where everything is. Plus if I put something new in such as a box I’ll make a bit of noise on it so that he’ll come over and explore what it is. Knowing to climb into boxes must be such an instinctive thing because he does it straight away. It’s pretty amazing
I agree. I’m not sure why mother nature would have cats want to climb inside of things but it seems to be true. Perhaps, in the wild, it is a safe way to get some rest.
