We adopted Floki on the Fourth of July 2016. This post was from August 22 of that year. I didn’t remember how long our cats had dealt with illnesses after Floki’s adoption.
Frankie’s Encounter with Frankie
Rose ordered See’s candy for Easter and put some in a gift bag for our next-door neighbor. She then asked me to bring the candy to her house the day before Easter.
After arriving with the candy, my neighbor invited me inside. She is our neighbor who also has a cat named Frankie, but her cat is female. When we first met our new neighbor, her cat hid in the bedroom, so we never saw what she looked like. This time, she was out in the same room with me. She kept her distance, but she did allow me to open the door so she could escape outside.
When I returned home, I took Frankie for a walk. Our neighbor saw us, opened her door, and invited Frankie inside. Frankie gladly accepted and investigated her house as if he had just bought the place. The back door was open, but the glass storm door was closed. Frankie looked out the door and saw her Frankie looking back at him. It was every bit the look that you would imagine and then some.
The next day, while walking Frankie, our neighbor again invited us inside. This time, her Frankie was also inside. I think she wanted the cats to get to know each other since they have seen each other through the screens many times. I was not sure that was a good idea but Frankie was all for it so I figured that there was a small chance they would like each other. After all, it was a male and a female, not two males.
It did not go well. Frankie was eager to meet her and walked to where she was behind the sofa, but she growled and hissed before running to the other side of the room, near the front door. That is when I took my phone out and started recording.
I think Frankie is getting too comfortable visiting the neighbor’s house. This was him yesterday.

Floki Turns Nine
It is hard to believe that our little baby, Floki, is already nine years old. It seems like yesterday that we brought the little screamer home.
Chris accepted Floki better than he did Frankie.
He seemed to grow up in no time. We mistakenly assumed Siamese cats were bigger than average but that is not true. In fact, Floki is the smallest cat we have had since Princess.
Below are photos of Floki from each year starting in 2016 and ending this year.

I hope you enjoyed this trip down Memory Lane.
Throwback Thursday: The Outdoor Adventures of Two Bad Cats
This post is from August 2016. Those were the good ol’ days.
Ripple Rug Review
A couple of months ago, I saw a video for a product called Ripple Rug. In the video, the cats were having a wonderful time going in and out of all the holes and crevices. After my wife saw the video, she agreed that we should order one from Chewy. So, we paid the forty-six dollars and waited with anticipation.
When it arrived a few days later I couldn’t wait to watch our cats enjoying such a unique product.

Floki was interested right away… in the box.

He did eventually investigate it for a few seconds but never tried to enter one of the little holes. Frankie’s level of interest could only be compared to his interest in toothpaste.

I let it sit for a few days, with neither of our cats showing any interest. Now, it is folded and waiting for us to bring it to West Virginia, where I will try again before throwing it out.
That is not to say this is a bad product. I’m sure many cats would have a ball with it. Just not our cats.
Photo Friday: In the Shadows
Most cats love lying in the sunbeam, but Floki has to be different.

Throwback Thursday: Floki Loves His Mouse
Here is Floki in a video when he was around four months old in August 2016. Puck and Chris make cameo appearances in the film.
Photo Friday: Who Needs a Cat Bed?
I folded laundry the other day but before I could put the towels away, I saw this.

I decided to let Frankie stay where he was for a while. When I came back later to put the towels away, I saw this.

Throwback Thursday: Caption This – Treat Stealer
Holly was our first experience with a bad cat. I think that is what attracted us to Chris. I learned she passed away recently.
Photo Friday: Classic Alex and Tigger
Here is a photo of Alex and Tigger I found from March 27, 2009.

Until now, we always had cats that would nap close together.
