That is a bittersweet memory but that was a high lounge spot!
They could see everything from up there and nobody could bother them, without Dad’s help, of course.
It’s good to become a “cat reader” in a way, at least of our own cats. They do like the highest places, don’t they.
Most cats do but not all cats are great jumpers.
