I took Frankie for a walk yesterday morning. Everything went well for a while. Then a man wearing a yellow vest freaked Frankie out. He was the driver of a truck that was about to pull a dumpster. I don’t know why he was where he was but as he was walking back to his truck, he scared Frankie who started to run. I tried to keep up with him but he was faster than me and every time he reached the end of his leash that would freak him out more. I picked him up to show him that the man was not a bad guy but he wasn’t buying it.
He Jumped out of my arms and continued running, but his leash was partly wrapped around his neck. When we got a good distance away I was able to stop him and unwrap his leash.
That was when the man started the truck which made a loud beeping noise and got Frankie running again. He ran me all the way home. When I walked in the door I was breathing hard like I just had a workout. I really need to exercise more.
That was when] Chris wanted to go outside. I let him out and he proceeded to go into the yard to eat a little grass. The garbage truck was still making noise but it wasn’t bothering him. After a couple of minutes, a truck drove past our house.

It didn’t even faze Chris. He just casually looked at it after a drove by.

On an unrelated note, I am almost finished with my first novel. It is not cat related. Sorry. I hope to have it available in less than a month. I will let you know more when I know. Right now I have a lot of learning to do in a short time.

Excitement! A different noise throws them for a loop. A “first novel” ? Good for you! I can ALMOST remember how excited I was when I finished my first (and only) one.
Hugs, Pam
It feels like I accomplished something.
It’s a wonderful feeling….even moreso when you see your book in stores or on Amazon!!!! GO MAN GO!
😀
How differently they react to things … maybe in time Frankie won’t be quite the “scaredy cat” he is now.
It’s funny because he usually isn’t bothered by things.
Oh my, poor Frankie! I hope he calmed down after you arrived home?
He is usually not a scardy cat.
Does he have a preference for women over men?
Not that I am aware of. Perhaps he didn’t like the big yellow vest.
I wonder why he got so scared. Congrats on the novel.
Thanks. I don’t know. He is normally pretty brave.
Frankie sounds like our Levi. The strangest things set him off! Inanimate objects (such as garbage bags outside take him over the edge lol) Best of luck and congratulations on your novel!!!!!!
Thank you.
It had to be a little scary having Frankie freaking out like that. You’re lucky he ran home and didn’t run somewhere else.
Part of the reason that I started taking him out was so that he would get used to the neighborhood and know his way home.
Poor Frankie, it’s awful being scared like that! Congrats on the novel!
Thanks so much.
I had planned to leash train Raleigh and Audrey, but then I realized if they ever took off running I would be screwed. As I have no balance and have to walk with a cane, I’d either have to let go of the leash or fall on my face. That’s when I decided to get a stroller. Some of Kitties Blue are scaredy cats and some are not phased by strange things or loud noises. I guess that is the same with all cats. So happy neither Frankie or you were hurt! XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, angel Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
I can understand why that would be difficult. You can’t walk a cat like a dog. I cat walks you. Sometimes they run you. If I try to pull Frankie with the leash, he resists and pulls backwards. Pulling backwards is the perfect way for him to get out of his harness.
finished your first novel – or your first draft of said novel?
I am almost done with the 6th draft and I am waiting for someone to create the cover.
Well, that is impressive. I never ever even finish the first draft, I usually write short stories for a reason – and I do not work on them after … but then I do not write to be published.
I started in 2018. The only reason I finished is because I got laid off from my job and needed something to do.
That is what I hope for my retirement …
Viel Glück
Poor Frankie.
Ooooo…a novel…
😀
Poor Frankie. That must have been scary. Big trucks are noisy.
He is usually not scared of much.
