For my birthday I got an 8 mm film scanner so I could scan my Dad’s old films. I have a box of about 25 to thirty reels dated from 1964 to 1967 and 1974 to 1976. For some reason the dates in between are missing and nobody has seen them.
As soon as I started scanning the films Floki was right there to help.

I guess he was fascinated by the project because he spent a lot of time supervising my work.
Here is example of one of one of the scans. It is my mother, sister and I in 1966 with our dog, Bruno.
Oh, how cute. So, you were born in, what, 1963? Love the Saint…
Good guess. 🙂
I was born in ’66 so, I was judging by your size.
You got it. I was about 3 1/2 in that recording. My sister is a year and five days older so she was 4 1/2.
LOVE those old movies. 💕
It’s always fun to take a look back…..old movies are fun! The scanner was a nice gift – you’ll have fun seeing all those old movies.
Hugs, Pam
It was very nice. I had those movies for many years but was never able to watch them.
Aww, Bruno!
🙂
Mr. Charles, I’m very glad to know that Floki is an excellent snoopervisor!
Purrseidon, who suggests popcorn with home movies.
The popcorn is a great idea.
And he’s a little traitor!
Sometimes.
these types of films are always great to look back on, laugh at, and cherish !!! 🙂 hope someone ends up finding the missing reels !! ~~~~~ I see you made your sister do all the “heavy loading”
🙂
When you are three that is what you do.
What a handsome cat!! 😻
He sure is.
Wonderful to have the old films!
I enjoyed seeing things I forgot or never saw before.
Make sure you get Editor credit on the movies Floki!
He will be listed as executive producer. 🙂
How cool! I don’t think my human has any old videos, although her dad was an avid photographer, so there are lots of pictures.
So was my Dad. I have many of his slides but just discovered there were many more. My mother hired someone to scan them but they used a cell phone to do it. I was sent a link to the pictures and most of them were covered in dust and half of them were backwards with no indication of where or when the pictures were taken, which is usually written on the box of slides. I called my mother when I learned of the pictures and said “let me have them. I will scan them the right way.” She replied that she threw them away. That was very disappointing.
that film is fabulous! I love Bruno!! (love his name too!) Your sister was just darling and so were you! What cuties! thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Caren.
We had a ton of 8mm films from when we were kids that my brother had converted to digital not long ago. What great memories you’ll be able to keep and watch whenever you want. ~the mom
It is great to have them. I just wish I could find the missing films.
Boy those came out really well ! How great to be able to preserve those memories going forward !
I think it was worth the $300.
Great video and surprisingly clear.
The scanner worked well. Sometimes the videos we overexposed or out of focus but that was photographer error. 🙂
That’s excellent quality for it’s age
My dad kept all his films in the boxes that they came in.
