Photo Friday: Taking Over

Our cats love to take over our spots when we get up, especially Chris. Here he is sleeping on my spot on the sofa while his nice, cozy blanket is laid out for him in “his spot.”

Who else has to deal with this?

Not me – Teddy isn’t a chair guy. He prefers BEHIND a chair although there are TWO chairs in the house that WE don’t use ever and he quickly realized that so they are the only chairs he uses. He doesn’t seem to need to occupy ANY space where we were – I always figured that was more about the warmth than taking over the space to claim “ownership” anyway. Sammy would do that once in a great while though!

haha! Yes! Piper will start to burrow between me and the comfy living room chair (now known as her chair). It took me a while to realize she was trying to make me move from that chair so she can get there. It was a great spot for me to read, too…..

Reminds me of Tascha, a doberman we got when I was 12. She would lie with her head at the corner of my pillow and slowly take it over. She would the growl at me when I tried to reclaim it.

Fortunately for me, my two kitty boys are fixated on who gets which cat lounger just now, so I am out of their competition for specific chairs or beds. Chris does look comfortable there…

We have plenty of that here. Dino and Pebbles didn’t wait for you to vacate your chair or spot on the sofa. They would get off your lap and stare at where you were sitting, which was your big hint they wanted your spot. If you didn’t move, they would nag you until you did. 🙂

    BTW, how’s Frankie’s paw?

Manna and Dexter are always taking my spot. They must just love the scent of me or something. I try to just scoop them off the chair and into my lap, but it doesn’t usually work.

You don’t expect him to warm up his own spot, do you. Snoops usually let’s me know when the chair is warm enough for me to give it to her
