Of our four cats, only Chris and Frankie, our two gold cats, go outside. They don’t go out very often, usually only for brief periods during the weekend. Of the two, only Frankie needs to wear a harness and that is because he won’t stay close to home where I can watch him.
Since we moved here a year and a half ago, I have been taking Frankie for a walk, partly to see if he will find his way home. The problem is, and always has been, he usually travels in one direction until we get far away and I have to pick him up and carry him home. The video below is an example of what I go through.
I will say that a week or so after I sot this video, Frankie did manage to circle around and end up back at our house. That was a big milestone.
He’s got a mind of his own alright!
Hugs, Sammy
He sure does.
seems Frankie has his own gps… that or he is like my dad and gives nothing on the things the gps-girl says …
I’m wondering if he has a girlfriend in the next neighborhood.
He is real Frankie Walker. Look at his tail, he is so happy just walking outside. What a lovely kitty!
He loves being outside.
Oh, F. You are not stubborn at all. You just want to do (and sniff) what you want to do (and sniff). Nuthin’ wrong with that….
Love and licks,
Cupcake
He did plenty of sniffing before the video started.
We are so impressed by how well Frankie has trained YOU. We just saw him on Instagram trying to make a break for it over the fence. MOL. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Did you also see the video of him nagging me to go out?
dood….ewe had sum spotz in yur moovee wear ewe waz pickin up a prette good pace…dad had ta run fast ta keep up with ewe !! 🙂 ♥♥♥
Yes, then he gets nervous when he hears me running. I think I make too much noise and keep him from catching lizards.
Frankie only goes where he wants! MOL If my human gently pulls on my lead, I usually go in the direction she wants me to, without complaints. I can see this is wholly ineffective with Frankie!
I think Frankie needs his own “Bad Cat” book.
I know, Frankie is too much like Chris.
MOL ! It looks like Frankie knows very well what he wants ! Purrs
He thinks he is the boss.
He’s a travelling cat!
He is on a mission.
He is more like a dog on a mission.
It’s been a while since I had one of those.
Ours are all outdoor cats, most of them do not go far from home, but the two young boys have gone further. We had a Thundershirt for Dash once, he hated it, I am not sure he would have liked a harness but they look so useful to me!

Frankie didn’t like it at first but now he associates it with going outside and gets excited when he sees it.
