Chris has not been feeling well lately and spends a lot of time sleeping, which is typical cat behavior but not typical Chris behavior. The last couple of weeks, while our other three cats are gathered in the kitchen waiting to be fed, Chris is laying down somewhere in the house and I have to bring him his dinner, which he does not get up to eat.
We have been debating on whether or not to take Chris to the vet. His eye is still bad but slightly better and he does eat and he does come out for attention sometimes, but not as often as before. I worry that if I do bring him to the vet they will just give him antibiotics and steroids (which he has never had and I would like to keep those out of his system) and I will be out several hundred dollars. On the other hand, I would possibly find out if it is something different than what Frankie, Puck and Floki had.
Sounds like something else is going on with Chris…..unless the eye infection just has his system so worn down he doesn’t even want to come eat with the others. Maybe a vet trip – it might be there’s something wrong that will just get worse without treatment instead of eventually getting better.

I am going to try to get him in tomorrow. The vet I want to take him too is difficult. May have to settle for vet #2.
maybe you can find a holistic vet in your area who can treat chris without antibiotics and big chemical bombs? Sometimes such meds are the thing we need, but on the other hand I think the vets are too fast with antibiotics….. but that’s just my opinion and it brings not much to talk with a vet about this topic… Hugs to Chris I hope he will be back to 100% ginger tornado soon :O)
I have looked. The only one I can find only makes house calls and that is out of my budget.
yes… that’s something I had to learn to as I looked for alternative treatments :o((((
I would think they would be easier to find by you.
Get the cat to the vet!! Your cat will feel better and you will too.
They have no opening. I will try again Monday if he is no better.
I hope that’s all it is but you will feel better when you find out. Can’t wait to hear the result. I hope it’s good news.
poor baby….hopefully he is just a little off
Sadly, there are just a small handful of meds that vets seem to default to when a cat is sick, and rarely think outside the box. I’m glad you are taking Chris in, though. It sounds like he needs help getting better.
I couldn’t get him in so we are going to wait until Monday. If he is no better I will try again.
Aww, poor Chris. I hope he starts feeling better soon!
Thanks
I am glad he is eating.I hope poor Chris feels better soon.
Thank you. đŸ™‚
Well, eating is a good sign. But if he were my cat, I’d probably take him to the vet, but I’m a worry wort.
It’s hard to know.
