I meant to post this two or three weeks ago but I forgot about it until I noticed the pictures on the camera.
Chris and Puck were going crazy at the front window and I walked over to see what they were so interested in. There was a mouse on our sidewalk. It looked like he was eating a bug and he was totally oblivious to the turmoil he was causing just four feet away. I believe it was the first mouse I have ever seen in the wild, if you can call our sidewalk “The Wild.”
After I took pictures of the little guy, he picked up his bug and moved under the bush, even closer to the cats, still oblivious to their presence. This was like eating a steak in front of a starving man. I actually felt bad for them and almost wanted to open the door but we have had to deal with lizards and snakes brought into the house, the mouse can just stay outside, thank you very much.
That’s like our kitty June Buggie when that saucy mockingbird comes and lands on the planter just outside the window.
In one of my posts, I talk about a mockingbird that would hover outside the third floor window while Chris was looking out. I think the bird was trying to intimidate Chris but it wasn’t working. Those birds are not afraid of anything and often harass other birds twice their size. I even saw one chase an osprey.
Reblogged this on Bad Cat Chris and commented:
We don”t see many mice around here. This post was from 2013 and I haven’t seen one since. Now we have rabbits outside the house.
That is a pretty cute little mouse. We’ve seen them in the yard. Once Mom found now angel Louise and Lily Olivia with one cornered near a downspout. Astrid is now our supremo mouse catcher. Haven’t seen any in the house yet this year. Those were some really great photos. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, MistyMay, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Thanks. He was kind of cute.
We never see mice around here, it seems. It would be a nice change from all the birds and squirrels we get.
As long as they stay outside, I am fine with that. 🙂
Mouse tv is a lot harder to find that bird TV.
It sure is, unless you are a farmer.
