We don’t have a cat door that leads to our catio so, when the weather is too hot to leave the door open, I have to open it whenever a cat wants to come in or go out. Sometimes my wife opens it but mostly it’s my job. Frankie is extremely annoying when it comes to wanting to be on the other side of the door. He usually scratches on the door to get my attention but sometimes he just stares through the window.

When I let him in, he’ll wander into the kitchen to see if the food situation has changed and then a minute later, he is at the door wanting to go back out.

Sometimes we’ll repeat the in and out routine five times in five minutes. It is like he is testing my patience. Other times, though, he will nap on the catio, and we won’t see him for hours.

Yep – sounds like a perfectly normal day when you have cats…..in/out, up/down, food check (several times a day), napping and more napping. Sounds pretty appealing actually….LOL

Yes, you know.
Maybe you could teach him to open the door himself?? 😀
He’s really something!
He really does need a cat door!!!
I wish there was a way to put one in short of buying an expensive replacement door.
totally off topic, but your yard is AWESOME !!!! ☺☺
Thanks. We were lucky. Most of the HOA’s around here are set up as ten houses around a courtyard. For some reason, only six houses were built in our HOA, so the remaining property is ours to enjoy. Someone planted several patches of saw palmetto in 2011 and it has really grown. We need to have someone trim them back, but our money is tied up in legal fees for the foreclosure of one of the homes where the owner went into a nursing home.
Frankie is a funny guy.
He needs a reality show.
Sometimes I’m not sure if they’re crazy or we are. Or both.
In and out five times in five minutes? Yup, we know that dance very well.
I figured you would know. 🙂
When we got doggy doors for our dog, MJF, (They were preinstalled when we got new doors and windows.), Pipo & Minko figured out how to use them…and would spend time in the sunshine either in the back porch, or the sidewalk.
Since that was actually a no no, we sometimes had to block the doggy doors, then it was open and close them for the dog! LOL!
What we do for our pets…
