Frankie took his time yesterday smelling this storm drain.

I assume it is because there is a feral cat that seems to regularly use the stormwater sewers as a way to get around without being seen. A larger storm drain closer to our house has a metal grate over it and I have seen the cat through the grate on our walks at least twice, maybe more.

Explore, investigate, it is his duty and responsibility. Well done, Frankie. Now write a report on your findings when you’re back home …
Hahaha. 🙂
Good for Frankie taking it upon himself to keep an eye on all things “worrisome” in the neighborhood. I’m sure you’re right if you’ve seen the feral cat around there before – sniffing gives them away!
Hugs, Pam
He was checking out that very same spot again today.
I guess it’s better for Frankie to smell a cat than actually see one.
Every time Frankie sees a cat he moves towards it and almost always the other cat runs away.
It’s better for the other cat. 😊
I am guessing Frankie and the feral have never come face to face. I had never considered a cat hanging out in a storm drain and using it as a means of traveling through the neighborhood. I know kittens have been found in them. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali
Frankie has seen the other cat in the storm drain. When we had our home in West Virginia I remember cats and kittens hanging out in the storm drain.
Checking out the introoder.

CSI…Cat Scene Investigator!
😁
It’s got to be intriguing to him.
He is interested in every cat he sees or smells.
He must wonder whe=y he so oftewn smells this kitty, but hardly ever sees him…if at all.
I’m sure he wants to solve that mystery.
Sounds like a pretty smart cat
Frankie will bother my wife when I take too long to take him for his morning walk because he knows she will get me to do what he wants me to do. He’s very smart.
Cat logic at its finest
