Chris Turns Fifteen

Can you believe Chris is fifteen? Sometimes, like after waking up to find puke and poop all over the house, I think he won’t make it to his sixteenth birthday. Other times, like as I write this, I see he has climbed up to his perch with no problem. That gives me hope.

He can also still be bad, although in more subtle ways, like turning over his food bowls.

I’m not going to dwell on how much time he has left, instead, I will enjoy each day he is with us. I will also remember some of his antics when he was young.

Cause if that makes you happy, happy you should be! And p.s., slip out of that harness next time you’re out on a walkabout, too, just don’t hide under a car, it makes Dad nervous.     I should have watched the video before commenting! LOVED IT! Roary is like Chris when he opens cupboards and Roary LOVES to be up high like Chris does!! Chris is definitely a character, love this boy!

    I feel the same about my nearly 13-year-old Andy. I look at him sleeping, his Persian coat hiding movement, and I confess to poking him…just in case!

        Same her. Andy does sleep close to me, but on the floor by my bedroom door so I don’t get past him without him knowing it. That way, we can start his favorite morning rituals that involve me.

    Happy Belated Birthday Chris. Scylla is 16 and she still plays like a kitten sometimes although she has arthritis in her hips and gets hissy if you touch them.
