Saturday evening my wife and I sat down to watch a movie. We decided to stream a movie called “Strays.” After about twenty minutes it became apparent that the movie tried too hard to get laughs from crude humor and it just didn’t work so I suggested changing the channel. By then Floki was very interested in the movie and Rose didn’t want to deprive him of the entertainment.

He moved from the television stand to the coffee table to the floor and back again.

All the while he stayed interested in the movie. We watched half the movie before going to bed. Sunday, I made dinner, and we sat in the living room to eat. I didn’t want to look for a new movie because I wanted to eat so I put the same movie back on. Again, Floki became very interested. He sat on the floor watching the movie until it was over, probably forty-five minutes or so.
Is Floki weird or is watching television normal for some cats?

Our Kosmo is not interested in tv, but we had earlier a cat, who was watching birds in television. The bigger bird, the more interesting.
Sometimes my wife plays one of those YouTube videos of birds on her phone and Floki will watch it.
This is so cute. I just watch the world news at night–that’s all the TV for me. One of my cats will curl up in my lap and promptly fall asleep. They might be trying to tell me something.
I think world news tonight would put me to sleep too.
I never watched TV, but Mom watches enough for both of us.
Love and licks,

Kizmet is a huge television fan and Audrey enjoys it as well. They are mostly interested in sports, as there is usually lots of action! Floki may have just been interested as animals were in the film. You’ll have to test that with a different type of programming. That’s interesting. I wonder if he would like horse racing, or maybe dog racing if they still do that.
That is funny. I am going to test that out with a youtube video of dogs. 🙂
It will be an interesting experiment.
I think Floki liked seeing these other animals.
He’s not used to seeing dogs. The must have fascinated him.
Well, at least Floki liked the movie. The kitties hear all like Bird-TV videos on YouTube.
That is another good option.
All that movement on the screen AND animals they probably recognize as cats and dogs capture their little brains I think. Teddy used to enjoy watching football games only because of all those little “things” running around on the screen. These days he rarely even looks at the TV……
Hugs, Pam
I was thinking football might be intriguing for cats. Or hockey.
My cat watches television. He seems to like care chases and animals most.
They certainly like to watch things move.
that is just too darned cute!! Maybe he wants a woofie?
That’s possible.
Maybe he wants a dog. 🙂
It’s possible.
