Here is a post from February 1, 2015, for Throwback Thursday. Things haven’t changed much.
We got up Sunday morning and discovered the window screen near the front door was tore to shreds at the corner near the door. We knew right away it was Frankie because he “picks” at the screen when he wants to go outside, and he wants to go outside a lot lately. It doesn’t help that he is an inside kitty and is not allowed outside because, unlike Chris, he is a runner.
Frankie has been picking at the screen for months and has not caused more damage than a couple of small holes, this seemed like an act of desperation. I made a mental note to try to put the harness and leash on him again. Last time he put up quite a fight and it was very difficult to get it on him. It is also just plain difficult to put on which may be part of the…

Wow. They were really ingenious
Chris has outsmarted me more than a few times.
Naughty Frankie! When we first got Catorze’s brother Luther, he outfoxed me, too. We had an airlock in the kitchen: the external door wasn’t to be opened unless the inner one was shut, to keep him in. We thought we were so clever. But the little sod snuck into the kitchen, hid under a unit for ages until I had shut the inner door, and as soon as the external door was opened, he was off.
That sounds like something Frankie would do. What happened to Luther?
He wasn’t scared of cars and this proved to be his undoing. 😢😢😢
I’m sorry. The place we lived when I wrote this post was next door to a marina and the marina was on a main road. That is why I was so worried every time that Frankie escaped.
Wow, both kitties seemed dedicated to getting themselves out the door! Exciting times!
Having two escape artists was not fun.
That’s some screen work, my goodness!
Yep. I remember putting boxes and stuff in his way so he couldn’t scratch it but he would just move the boxes.
Does Frankie still do this to screens??
No but only because we don’t live there anymore. We have no screens on the inside of the house where we live now. We are having our back porch screened-in at our house in West Virginia. It will be done by the time we get there. Hopefully Frankie won’t ruin those.
Oh My Cat we were going to say that is pretty hard to do as Mr Buttons did that screen thing, not as bad, and then read the rest of the post. HA What a day! Chris was quite the escape Cat! Really smart fellow Ha Ha! You have some of the funniest posts Chris you hooligan!
Thanks. I just tell it like it is around here. 🙂
I am afraid one of my 3 semi ferals are going to do that and get out.
Part of the reason I started taking Frankie for a walk is so that he could get used to the smells and sights so he would not get lost if he did escape. Of course, I would still worry about cars, cayotes, and bad people.
Lord, you got double-teamed.
Welcome to my world. 🙂
LOL!
