Chris used to be a great lizard catcher. For throwback Thursday here is a fun little video from 2014. Well, maybe not fun for the lizard.
The other day Chris was outside and caught another lizard. That is bad enough but he has this irresistible urge to bring his catch into the house and doesn’t know what to do with it when he can’t get in.
I’m not sure why he has to bring it inside. At first I thought it was instinctual but then I realized that lions don’t kill a gazelle and then drag it back to the den to eat it. Maybe he just wants to show it off to Puck and Frankie.
as I saw the first lizard here I was ready for lift off with two dogs… but they were so afraid and hopped back in the car…. baby jeesus was on duty that day …
They are harmless, unless you are an insect.
Teddy loves to chase them but has yet to want to bring one inside from the garage (which is where he “hunts” for bugs and other assorted critters). I’m happy about that part! I bet Chris just wants to show the others that he’s the mighty hunter.
Hugs, Pam
That could be. I remember him bringing a snake in the house when we had the cat door to the patio.
We keep our garage propped open so the two outdoor cats can come and go freely. Every so often, they bring a lizard into the garage to ‘play.’ It pains me to see that and I try to save the lizard by taking them outside to the garden. Darn, if the cats don’t find them and bring them back inside…
I think eating prey is probably healthy for them in most cases but I am not sure if lizards are normal prey for cats.
I don’t know, but the outdoor cats cannot get enough of them.
Yep, the lizard wasn’t having fun! Hey was bring you a treasured gift!!!
I was outside. I don’t think he cared about me at that moment. 🙂
Goodness we need those little buggers here where I live!
They are easy to find. A cat’s dream.
No lizards here. I feel like I’m missing out! ~Ernie
Maybe but you do have the best bird tv in town.
We get the blue tailed lizards around here. Ollie has never had the opportunity to chase one. In his case, he is quite adept at catching water bugs, stink bugs and the occasional roach. He has fun with ants, too. I think this house sits on a giant ant hill.
Chris used to be a great big catcher and now Floki has that job. Its great for us unless Floki leaves a cockroach in your shoe like he did to me last week.
I love that video! Were you trying to convince Chris to not bring the lizard in the house? Awesome! Have an amazing day!
I couldn’t take it away from him while I was filming.
Did he ever let go of it?
After I put the camera down I made him give it up
That’s adorable! The wants to make sure you don’t starve. Cats think we’re crummy hunters.
We probably are crummy hunters, compared to a cat.
I know I am.
