Here is a post from almost six years ago for Throwback Thursday. We adopted Frankie earlier that year and Chris was mean to him for the first few weeks but then suddenly decided he wanted to be Frankie’s friend. Frankie was not so eager to forgive and forget.
Chris still seeks Frankie’s attention and still gets Jealous when Frankie gets on my lap but he no longer follows Frankie around the house
After months of fighting, Chris is now going to the extreme in trying to be Frankie’s friend. He always seems to follow Frankie when he notices him get up to leave. He walks alongside him and pushes his head into Frankie’s. It reminds me of the scene in Jurassic Park where the Tyrannosaurus headbutts a jeep as it is running next to it. I’m afraid Frankie is ready to file a restraining order.
He also has to butt in when Frankie comes to me for attention. I’m not sure if he is jealous of me giving Frankie attention or the other way around.
How can I lose this guy?
It’s been 10 months since I adopted Blue and Dorian Gray, but Layla, one of my old cats, still hisses when she sees them. I wonder when they’ll all get along. 😄
Every cat is different. Hopefully she will get over it soon.
Some cats (and people!) are more “pushy” than others at trying to get attention! Of course this was six years ago and now everyone in your household gets along just dandy. They just work this stuff out among themselves………too bad people can’t do that (!).
Hugs, Pam
Cats, for the most part, are much better at forgiving and forgetting than people are.
Chris is a riot!
That’s why we love him. 🙂
We have Rumpy who stalks Everyone but really likes to go after Einstein. Rumpy got a bit aggressive (His Steroids we think) and they had a falling out. Now they are starting to have a bit of fun again and Rumpy is back on the prowl
It’s nice when they get along even if one of them is annoying.
tuna used to stalk sauce all the time; now that sauce is gone and tuna is the elder; mackerull stalks him all the time….what’s that saying about payback 😉 ♥♥
I guess that’s kind of like when you grow up and have kids of your own. 😁
That’s pretty funny when you look back at it now.
Yes, it is. 🙂
I’ve seen that happen within our cat groups of the past, too, one cat wanted lots of attention from another who wanted to be solitary. We’d try to pet the one who needed attention a lot, sometimes it helped, sometimes it didn’t.
Chris seems to want attention mostly from Frankie while Floki seeks attention from Chris.
The older of our two previous cats tolerat3ed the younger one, but they were never friends. Of course, my husband treated that cat like royalty, so it’s no wonder she never felt like she needed a feline friend
I love to see Cats hanging out together but sometimes too much is too much.
