A couple of weeks ago I got an email from Ellen of the blog 15 and Meowing. She said we won the prize in their Halloween giveaway, The prizes were supposed to be a catnip mat, a catnip ghost, a magnet and a button skull but when I asked that she send the prize to Chris’s old shelter, Sav-R-Cats, in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, Ellen decided to make more catnip toys, 20 in all, so the cats at the shelter could enjoy them. Isn’t she wonderful?
I got the following pictures from Shirley, the shelter manager at Sav-R-Cats, and it looks like the prizes were a hit.
I’m grateful to Ellen and her crew and happy that these homeless cats have something to brighten their days a little. I know that they are well taken care of there, but I still hope all will find a loving home soon.

It was good to see the happy kitties.
Kittes are really interested of gifts. So great to give toys to them, in a shelter life must be very boring.
That shelter is pretty good to them but it is still not a home.
That is SO awesome! The 15 and Meowing human is so sweet and generous. We love her.

What a nice thing to do for the shelter cats. We know they will enjoy those toys.
Since we can’t adopt them all, it’s nice to do what we can.

Ellen is a wonderful lady – she makes adorable toys “from the heart” and is very supportive of everything in the cat world – especially the homeless kitties in shelters and in the wild. What a lovely thing to do – add to the winnings so EVERYONE could have some fun!

Ellen is an amazingly generous person, and I am not surprised that she sent so many handmade goodies to the shelter cats! It does appear as if they are enjoying them.
