Black Cat Appreciation Day

Today is Black Cat Appreciation Day, a day to appreciate all black cats and dispel those outdated beliefs and superstitions that black cats are bad luck. Did you know that some countries and cultures believe black cats are good luck?

We considered ourselves lucky to have Puck and we really appreciate him. He is like the eye of the hurricane around here. Puck remains (mostly) good while badness is happening all around him.

I’m with the people who know that a black cat brings good luck… I know a lot of peeps who live with a mini panther and who are the luckiest peeps ever :o) Happy Black Kitty Day!

    Dear Charles,

I have to admit that I wasn’t drawn towards black cats or tuxedos. But in fact it’s their personality which comes to us. Frimousse, my tuxedo cat was with her completely black brother in their basket, both 4 months old at the shelter.Frimousse just climbed up into the arms of my partner and then into mine. She was adopted in late 2011 for company for our Gremlins who lost his brother a few months earlier.,Her gorgeous fully black brother just wanted to stay put and did not want to have any contact at all with us. Maybe we didn’t smell nice for him!
Since he was adopted with his best friend, Ginger -orange tabby cat ,they are now living a very happy life indoors/outside in the west of France.
Frimousse is always looking for attention from me mostly, maybe because she had bad interactions with men before. Apparently, she was hit and kicked before she came to the shelter with her brother. Again, nobody likes black cats – others are fine as long as they are not black.
    How sad can that be???
    Take care.

Puck, we love black panfurs at our house; even though, we don’t have one right now. We are sure your humans are happy that you have been behaving yourself while the orange boys are being “bad cats.” Black Cats rock and rule!
