A New Fourth Kitty?

My sister-in-law is at it again. She has been busy saving the lives of more kittens and still has one gold kitten that will need a home soon. Rose has been hinting that she wants to adopt him but emotional decisions do not always end well. Let’s consider the pros and cons, starting with the cons:

  • We are already over our two cat limit.
  • Raising cats the healthy way is expensive.
  • We already have three boys. Perhaps a girl is needed.
  • Our dream of traveling after retirement could be more difficult.
  • We would be dangerously close to entering the Crazy Cat Lady/Man Zone.

Now for the pros:

  • Chris is a very touchy-feely cat. He might like having someone else to nap with.
  • Cats can tolerate a new kitten better than a new adult cat.
  • A new kitten might motivate me to start making my own cat food.
  • We would be helping a kitten in need.
  • Retirement is still more than 10 years away, 20 if they keep raising the retirement age.
  • Kittens are super cute.

I do not yet have a picture of the kitten but I snagged this picture off of Pixabay. It is what I imagine he looks like.

So what do you think? Any suggestions?

On another note, I actually won the Tuesday Teaser on One Spoiled Cat and get to display this badge.

I had a long streak of missing the Teaser but catching the Tell-All the next day.

Who is capable to say NO to a kitten who needs home? Never heard of such a human. I understand that situation when ratio and heart have different opinions. Travelling with four cats is a problem or to get a reliable cat sitter, but these difficulties are also with one cat. Money burns with cats, but humans without cats never tell how much money they have saved for this reason. Listen to your heart, think the love these kitties give you and you love cats.

I can say no … I can say yes … but you already have three — what’s one more? But then you have to stop. Now it will be two kitties for mom and two kitties for dad, so you’ll be balanced. It does take time and money to raise kitties in the best possible way … as a reader I look forward to your new cat addition. Hee hee!

I can’t say no to your new little girl. And I do make my own kitty food. It takes my husband and I one hour for two cats. The food lasts about 10 days and I mix it in with other whole meat quality canned food … I know you’re not supposed to mix, but if I didn’t we’d be making cat food every 5-6 days and that’s just too frequently for us. We’re not retired and work full-time.

Anyway … I can’t nay say the little bundle of fluff. I just can’t. ❤

No good asking me. I was determined we’d just have the two and we’re picking up number three at the weekend. I have no willpower when it comes to cats.

I had six at one time. Does that count? You have a few more to go to catch up to my sister-in-law. I love visiting her house. It’s like a petting zoo.

Hi, there! We are visiting by way of Sammy’s blog. Sammy is my kitty, Sundae’s, boycatfriend. They’ve been dating (virtually) for several years now…
Concats on winning the Teaser; I think we won it ONCE. It’s fun.
Going to check out some of your blog posts, and I think you should adopt the gold kitten. The more, the merrier!

Hi Diana. Thanks for checking out the blog and for the comment. It seems everyone is voting for the kitten but I didn’t really expect anything different. 🙂

My human knows her limit on cats, and that is three. She actually prefers to have two, but she sort of got “stuck” with Boodie (she was supposed to be a foster, but the rescue only called to show her once and was never heard from again). She can’t really speak for anyone else. She knows lots of humans that can handle more, but that’s not her.
