Once a biter, always a biter.
When Chris was a kitten, we had a big problem trying to sleep because when he wasn’t biting our ears or noses he was attacking our feet under the covers. I was hoping very much that this was the kitten in him and he would stop when he matured. He is now four years old and we are still waiting for him to mature.
He did eventually stop biting our feet at night but he still is a nose biter. He especially like to bite my nose for some reason. These last few months I have noticed his biting has been getting worse, not better. He has taken to biting my arms and legs like he is a kitten again. He does not always act that way but he gets into these frisky moods where he feels like he has to bite me.
I caught him in one of thee moods a few months…

Sam bites me when he’s upset with me or overstimulated from petting/brushing. WHAM – those teeth hurt too – I keep bandaids at the ready around here. This is just in the last year or so that he’s begun to do this……..he’s an old, crotchety man now! Biting is not fun – their teeth are like little needles (as if I had to tell you!!!!!!).

When I met my wife, Rose, her son had a cat named Sneakers who was beautiful Grumpy Cat. He didn’t have his moments when he wanted attention but when he was done he would hiss and bite. Chris is not like that. Chris bites when he’s being affectionate.
Binga is our resident biter – I think she believes they are love bites, but you should hear the humans yell when she does it!
I know the feeling. Sometimes I think I’m starring in 50 Shades of Chris.
Every once and awhile, I give the mom a nip. Usually when she’s too slow putting my food in my dish. ~Ernie
I can understand that Ernie. 🙂
Can you put some Vick’s vapor rub on your nasal area? Maybe that odor would deter him … just a thought.
That might work because it would deter me too. 🙂
I know when I put my camphor-methol rub on my body, my little cat will not come cuddle with me — I’m just too stinky! Thought that might keep Chris away from your schnoz! 🙂
They hate the smell of toothpaste too. Maybe a little peppermint oil would work.
Yeah, peppermint oil. Try that and let us know how it goes with Chris and your nose. Does it hurt when he bites your nose … or is it more of a little nibble?
No, he bites pretty hard.
