Work and Cats Don’t Mix

My wife has been sick the last couple of days and has not slept well due to difficulty breathing through her nose. In spite of her need for rest, she brought several hours of work to do at home. After we ate dinner she was too tired to work and went to bed early. At 2:30 this morning she was again having trouble sleeping so she got up to do her work. I woke up briefly when she got up but quickly fell back asleep until 4:30 when I heard Rose yell, “Chris! Stop that!” I think I may have heard swearing as well but I might have been dreaming.

I knew what was going on. Chris was biting her legs. He does that sometimes when he is not getting the required amount of attention. I decided I needed to drag myself out of bed to distract Chris so Rose could get her work done. Chris and work just don’t mix. I have tried it many times before and if he is not biting, he is stepping on the keyboard or rolling around on the desk and forget about having a cup of coffee nearby. Sometimes I just give up and come back to it when he is sleeping.

Here is a video of Chris biting my leg. It is an old one but it illustrates what we have to go through with him.

I don’t think I have to ask but who else has trouble getting work done with cats around?

OMC that is too funny! He is definitely a “leg” man! lol!!!! In my house, Cody allows me to get my work done, it is my husband who is the distraction! Especially today, he is sooooo on my nerves! lol. Hoping your wife is feeling much better!

Humans have trouble getting work done anyway, that’s the reason why we always come to help them : we don’t bite, but we check the keyboard rolling on it, we put the papers in order, we chew some pens, and some papers too ! Purrs

Sam will bit my arm if I stop brushing him when he’s on my lap……OR, sometimes he’ll bite my legs for NO REASON if I don’t have long pants on or socks! It’s a “bare skin” fetish! HAHAHA

I get lots of “help” from the cats. Like right now, Ernie is laying on my lap making it really difficult to type this comment. And he wants me to pet him all the time.

Aw, those are just love bites! My human says that Sparkle used to jump on the desk and slap her in the face when she felt neglected or wanted something.

Here is a post from January 2015 for Throwback Thursday. Chris does not bite legs as much these days but he has found other ways to annoy. I work from home more now and while I am working he will scratch my legs to let me know he wants to be picked up and put on my lap. He will then sometimes nap but usually he starts digging his claws into my face and chest. The problem is, if I put him down he then retaliates by biting my legs.

Ouch……I guess all cats have ways of getting our attention but biting hurts! Teddy isn’t a biter but he is an “accidental scratcher” – we keep his nails trimmed but they are still sharp and when I play with him he catches my skin sometimes…..and of course I bleed. I look like I’ve been trapped in a cactus field sometimes with my array of wounds.
