I guess Chris figured if he couldn’t get into the bag, he would just lie on top of it. Typical cat!

Floki almost never lies on his back.
The way your gym bag is folded gave it ears, and it actually looks like a black cat. Floki definitely looks super comfy, and we know Chris is happy lying on something of yours. I don’t remember but the both look happy.
I’m guessing he didn’t want you to leave, although you never know, he may have wanted to go to the gym with you.
I’m sure Chris would have been happy going anywhere but the vet.
