My wife insisted that I start seeing a chiropractor again after suffering a terrible back injury early last week. Surprisingly, finding one in a neighborhood of 31,000 old people was quite difficult. I eventually found one and made an appointment for Friday. An hour later they called and said they had a cancellation and could get me in at 3:00.
I hesitated to see anyone about my back earlier since I was in great pain, but by yesterday morning, the pain level was around twenty percent of what it was at its worst. The chiropractor examined me and did some gentle manipulations, but didn’t do the typical back-cracking technique. When I left, I felt a little worse than when I arrived, but that’s sometimes normal.
The pain continued to get worse throughout the evening. By the time I was ready to go to bed, my back hurt worse than it did at the peak of pain a week ago.
The terrible pain continued this morning. It was a struggle to get out of bed. I eventually was able to hobble to the sofa. I couldn’t get up to do my work, which I do from my desktop computer, so I asked Rose to bring my laptop to me so I could work from the sofa. Frankie had other ideas.

He sat on my laptop for probably ten minutes while I pet him. I didn’t want to make him get down since today would be another day he doesn’t get his walk. Rose did let him out on the catio, but considering our temperature dropped to 36 degrees this morning, he decided it was better to stay in the house.

What a bummer. Hope you feel better soon. I was helped by a chiropractor, back when I had sciatica, Anti-inflammatories from the doctor helped too.
Thanks. I have another appointment next Monday. We’ll see what happens.
Gosh, Charles–I hope you start feeling better soon. Advil might help as well as maybe one of those Solanpas patches they advertise on TV? Anything but a chiropractor–never been a fan of those.
Thanks. My wife bought me a box of those patches.
I’m sorry your back is giving you all those troubles…and I know Frankie must wonder why he’s not going on walks, poor fella.
Feel better, soon.
Thanks.
Wow…..sounds like that chiropractor you saw didn’t give you much relief but I guess sometimes it takes a while? Don’t know myself – my husband has a bad back (partially compressed vertebrae – old injury) and uses the pain patches – Aspercreme also makes then (Salonpas has same level of lidocaine as Aspercreme ones). He actually gets MORE back pain relief from Aspercreme CREAM though. Hope something helps though – back pain is tough to “get away from” isn’t it.
Hugs, Pam
My wife bought me the patches this morning and I used one but the pain pulling it off is more than the relief it gives.
I have a chronically bad back, so I have an inking of what you are going though – purrayers that you find some way to get some relief !
Thanks so much.
That was cold for your area. I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks. It was unexpected. That temperature is usually reserved for January.
Dang, you got it good. Been there and I hope you feel really better soon.
Thanks so much.
I wish I had good advice or something which could help, but all I can offer is my sympathy.
I appreciate it.
we hope a chiro guy can help and the pains will be less soon…
Thanks. I can’t wait for the pain to be over.
Wow. That’s a really bad experience. I hope it’s settling back down. Your temperature is only slightly higher than up here in Michigan.
It was 40 this morning so we should be back to normal soon… Hopefully.
My gosh. That sounds terrible. I’m so sorry the chiropractor wasn’t able to give you immediate relief from your pain. I hope your next appointment does the trick.
I have another appointment on Monday. My fear is I will be feeling better before going and then the same thing will happen.
If Frankie is going to snoopervise, it is important to be right where the work is being done, or not done in this case. We hate when something that is supposed to make you feel better makes you feel worse. We really hope your pain is subsiding. Thanks so much. I am about fifty percent better but I have another chiropractor appointment on Monday so we’ll see what happens after that.
