This post is from October 2016. Despite the occasional bad times, I miss Puck.

Not too long ago Teddy began peeing on the couch in my office……it’s old and needs to be sent to the dump BUT it works(or should I say worked) for seating in my office. Anyway, I decided to see if putting a litter box in my office closet which wasn’t really used would stop the couch stuff and it did. My conclusion was he was either(or both) too lazy to go all the way down two floors to the basement box he’s always used……or it’s not being lazy – it’s because going down stairs is tough for a 30 lb. long-bodied cat! It’s been a couple of years and no accidents. SO FAR.
Hugs, Pam
We have a box upstairs and downstairs here in WV for the same reason. Maybe we don’t need it but it is better to not risk it.
Sometimes it’s hard to explain those incidents.
Yes, which makes them hard to solve.
Puck was a sweet boy despite the poop issue.
He sure was. Never caused any problems other than the pooping and peeing.
Sometimes it’s hard to ferret out why our pets do things. We do love them anyway.
We sure do.
I was wondering if you ever sloved that issue, or at least made it happen less often.
When our Pipo was elderly he began ‘going’ outside of the box, too…I put down ‘pee pads’ around the box, and the rascal just started to go just beyond where those pads were…I had to pad the whole area for several feet…I do think he had some kind of feline dementia after he began his last year.
The pooping stopped but I’m not sure why. Later he developed bladder problems and started peeing outside the box.
I know that feeling. Everything is not covered in white fur anymore, but I really miss Kommando
I have never lost a cat that I don’t miss.
