We drove to Parkersburg last weekend and decided to take the backroads home where we saw several deer. Most were either too far away to photograph or scampered into the woods before we got close enough. These were the brave ones.

Teenagers? Still sporting their spots … maybe not yet learned their lessons to get off the roadways, even those back roads. Good photo captures!
Thank you.
oooh wow!… and they show no fear… they look relaxed and interested ;o)
Most are not like that.
Their hearing is amazing. I was lowering my window to take a photo and they heard the window and scampered off! You got some great pictures.
Thanks. Some that we encountered ran away before we got close enough.
They’re beautiful. I never get tired seeing deer.
Me neither.
We see them less often here but there are still couples or Moms with one or more babies occasionally. I love seeing them – but I always worry about them. People in our community rarely pay attention to what’s on the side of the road sadly.
Pam
I know what you mean. I’ve seen a few victims since being here.
It’s nice to see them, although I hope they don’t get too brave.
That’s right. They should be scared.
Great shots. They are beautiful.
Thanks.
They really are so very pretty!
It is a pleasure to see them in the wild.
I work second shift, and take the back roads to mhy work, and sometimes I do see deer…I avoid those same roads when I go home from work, and take the highway…and there are still deer dancing on the road or standing in the ditch thinking about crossing the road. I need to have eyes in the side of my head to take heed of them…sometimes they just dart out in front of me, seemingly from nowhere. In our state, apparently our county has one of the highest deer/vehicle encounters…my son and hubby have hit them…thankfully not me…yet!
They are pretty, though…not very smart! LOL!
They are everywhere here in West Virginia although we rarely see them near our Florida home. I think armadillos are the main roadkill there.
so…now the song kids learn to play piano by, is in my head…doe a deer…🙀🎹🎹‼️😸
😂
Beautiful. We were out in the evening a couple of weeks ago and saw 18 deer. They are in all neighborhoods here. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta & Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
Wow! That’s amazing.
We have deer around the house. The cats have no interest whatsoever.
Too big for them, I guess.
