Throwback Thursday: Making Homemade Raw Cat Food – Batch Two

Here is my second post about making homemade raw cat food from August 2016. I have learned over time that I get the best results with chicken, so I have stuck with that. Recently, the store was short on chicken, so I had to add forty percent turkey. I found I was throwing away half the food because they would eat a little and then walk away.

I’ll admit to being a member of the “Lazy Brigade” when it comes to the whole raw food thing. I know lots of people subscribe to it but I never did – I think it’s too near to “people food” although the ingredients are raw and Teddy will not eat any table scraps or leftovers of ANYTHING that David and I eat. I totally admire everyone who does make raw food diet goodies for their pets though – wanting to give them the very best possible diet.

    Hugs, Pam

Good for you! I once considered doing this, but never got around to it…our pups get freeze dried raw. I am lazy! This is why I still work past official retirement age, LOL! (I enjoy the part time job a lot, so its ok, we all win!)

It’s interesting how cats have varied palates the same as humans. We have one cat who will not eat fish and another who won’t eat poultry unless it is mixed with fish and a third who will only eat fish or beef. And a couple will not eat “people” tuna or chicken although they are fine with the cat variety. (And then there’s Snoops who will pretty much eat anything that doesn’t eat her first.)
