Throwback Thursday: Frankie Escapes His Harness

Here is a post from August 3, 2016. Despite the known flaw in Frankie’s harness, I still use it today. I have just learned what I can and can’t do.

We tried a harness on Sgt Stripes thinking he might enjoy going back outside since he was out there when we brought him inside. It was a major ordeal getting it on. He promptly laid down. We stopped trying when we realized he never tried to get out anyway

If he doesn’t care about going outside, then you are right to leave it alone. We had two cats, Chris and Frankie, who would try to race out the door whenever we opened it. Frankie is still like that.

None of my kitties were ever “walkers”, couldn’t even get collars on them … and in fact, none liked to be picked up/held either! At least Frankie allowed himself to be carried once on-the-loose …

I’m glad you know the secret and how to stop him from getting out.

Our Tripod SissyCat was indoor/outdoor and part feral the first 8 years of her life (she’s 19 now) and still loves to go outside, but no further than the front porch and nibbling the grass right next to it. She knows where she is loved and doesn’t want to leave, unlike when she first came.

We you know, Teddy was “trained” with a harness when we first adopted him but soon he learned where he could and couldn’t go and now wears nothing but his fur!

    Hugs, Pam
