When my last job went out of business on St. Patrick’s Day, I was put in a position where I needed to find a job quickly. It took a month, but I was finally hired for a job with Hertz Rental Car. Several days later I learned that they hired three people for two openings and since I was the last in, I was the first out.
After I was hired, a woman called me about a job working for a company that maintains aquariums. I turned it down because I just got a job but when that job was taken away I called her back and she hired me that day. That was six months ago and I am still working with fish. During that time, I come to believe the most interesting aqurium fish is the Blackspotted Puffer Fish, also known as the Dog Face Puffer.

This fish comes in a variety of colors.

It seems to recognize humans and will look at you with those big eyes. They are also friendly, and some will let you pet them and even handle them.
I only have a freshwater tank at home but if I had a saltwater tank, that would be my first fish. The only drawback is they have sharp teeth that they need to keep trimmed so expect some chewing. We have some accounts where we can’t put plastic plants in the tank because the puffer will chew them into little pieces.
On another note, I am still looking for people to review both of my recent books, Identity Crisis and The Last Healer. I have two copies each that I am willing to give away in exchange for a review. Just send me an email to cehuss (at) tampabay (dot) rr (dot) com and tell me which book you want or both. I will send anywhere in the United States. If you live outside the U.S., I’m still willing to send you a book as long as the postage is reasonable.

It is your fish teacher
😀
That is a cool fish. Glad you were able to find an interesting job.
Thanks. The job is good but starting at 6:15 a.m. is not so good.
We loved our salt water aquariums. They are definitely money pits, though! Sounds like a fun job!
Especially if you need to hired someone to take care of it. 😀
That was very interesting about the fish and they are lucky to have you caring for them.
Thank you.
Those are really interesting fish. I never knew fish would allow themselves to be held. Thank you for sharing this interesting tidbit. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta & Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
I’ve always thought those fish had a lot of “personality” in their expressions!
Hugs, Pam
They are fun to watch.
Big bite on that boy. An “overbite”! Cool colors … salt water aquariums the be$$t if you can. So many extraordinary ones to choose from … envious of your job, seems like more of an avocation.
It’s different every day.
What a brilliant fish!
They are pretty cool.
That is one interesting fish!
It really is.
I love this! It sounds as if it is an extremely interesting job!
It is interesting but I start too early in the morning.
Cool fish. Are you still looking for reviewers? Not really my genre, but my daughter would be interested.
Yes. Send an email with the shipping info. Let me know if you need my email. I could also send a kindle ebook if that would be better.
I sent you the address at the email you had in the post.
I forgot i put it in the post. 😀
So cool to hear that you got into aquariums, I keep a couple in my home and love it! Hope you can get that salt water tank one day!
That would be nice if I ever have the room.
