It’s not bad enough that Chris has to tip over his food bowls because he is too lazy to stand up and eat, now he started tipping over his water bowl.
The cats have three water bowls. The one that is used most often is a raised water bowl that is in the living room. There is also a bowl in the cat’s room and another bowl in our bedroom. Those are not raised bowls. Friday I noticed water in the living room next to the bowl. It was not tipped over but there was a significant amount of water on the floor. The next day Rose told me that Chris had tipped the water bowl over twice.
I decided to put the tall bowl in the cat’s room and put the regular bowl in the living room. I thought this might solve the problem. Not long after I did that, I saw Chris walk over to the water bowl, lie down, and start drinking while lying down.

A little while later I saw what he did with the raised bowl in the cat’s room.

The raised bowl is now out of service.

You can fight it, but you will not win.
Love and licks,

I wonder why he is doing this?
He always has to cause trouble one way or another. Actually, I worry he is getting old. Maybe standing too long is difficult for him.
I was just thinking that, maybe, he is in pain and trying to make things simple?
I thought that too. I am worried about him.
I understand. I worry over my Ollie, too. He is 11.
Chris will soon be 14 and a half. He has lived longer than any cat I ever had.
Oh, goodness…
That’s pretty interesting, he does get a bit tipsy!
Teddy has a water bowl on each of the three floors of our house……I think he prefers the raised bowl because he can sit while he drinks instead of standing. I have to give him praise for never tipping over anything (yet!).
Hugs, Pam
The raised bowl is better unless you want to lay down while you’re drinking.
What does he have against standing? Is he getting arthritis – or just lazy?
I think maybe he has arthritis.
That makes sense. Poor thing.
