Chris is Back at the Vet

Chris is still having trouble with his ears so he is at the vet getting another antibiotic treatment.

Before we brought him in, both Floki and Frankie were inside his carrier, but I only managed to photograph Frankie.

I am currently at the vet waiting for Chris.

It sure was with Teddy……our vet resorted to a “short” course of Otomax which is usually used for dogs with yeast infections in the ear – but at a smaller dose and for a shorter period of time, it is often used for stubborn yeast infections in cats’ ears. It worked for Ted.

I don’t know. His ear polyps create an environment that promotes bacterial growth. Thay can’t do surgery that will get them all out. We did schedule him for surgery to remove some of the ear polyps, but Rose worried that putting him under at his age might be too risky.

I use hydrogen peroxide for my own ears to ease a cold, thin wax and clear bacteria. I can always tell when I’ve got too much bacteria. As soon as I put the HP in my ears, I get dizzy. Yep. Too much bacteria. Ask a vet? I imagine they use HP in surgeries. Just a thought…
