When I started my shift last Friday at the SPCA, I noticed there were over 25 kittens there. That was the most that I have seen at one time. I took several photos but the kittens were very busy so it was hard to get a good shot. Fortunatly, these two were resting at the right time.

Everybody loves kittens so I am sure they have been adopted by now. It is the older cats that I worry about. Some have been there for too long and need a home.
I know – I visit my local shelter’s website at least once a week…..some of the cats have been there for years – the kittens are there for days.
Hugs, Pam
I feel so bad when I come in and see the same cat, or cats. Sometimes they are alone in individual cages which makes me feel worse. I want to take them home but often when they are caged by themselves it is because they don’t get along with other cats.
I wish all cats a lot of luck… they deserved a wonderful place. so sad that only the kitten attract the people….
Kittens are cute but people don’t realize that if they want to find a cat that matches the personality that they are looking for than they need to look for an adult cat because kittens grow up and change.
That is such a shame about the older cats. People who have never had cats are in for a huge surprise with kittens.
They are like a box of chocolates. You just don’t know what you are getting with a kitten.
that has to be heartbreaking; not only for the cats but for the people who work there also 😦 ♥♥♥
cute photo of these two; the ginger could be chris’ cousin !! 😉 ♥3
I think everyone would love to take home all the unwanted cats but, of course, we can’t.
They sure are cuties, love those sweet faces!
My son and his roommate both adopted older cats. Hopefully more people see the value in the older cats.
You have a great son. I recently saw a 16 year old female that I was ready to take home but found out she didn’t like other cats. I think people who adopt an older cat or dog just so they can live out their remaining life in a loving home are worthy of great respect.
Yes, he’s very thoughtful. The 8-year-old calico he adopted last year isn’t elderly, but well beyond the kitten stage. As a collect student, it gives exactly what he needed in a cat – love and snuggles. His roommate was jealous and got a cat of his own this year. Although it isn’t as old as my son’s cat, his cat is still a couple of years or more past the cute kitten stage. He wanted a more playful cat, and I think he got just that. Both came from the local shelter, so I was pleased. You’ll be disappointed in me…I was the one that fell for the shy little kitten that hid from everyone. Oh well, all kitties need homes.
I think once they get past five they are considered too old by too many people.
Yup. It’s a shame.
Those are cute kittens! I adore the older cats and wish I could take them all home, and all the kittens too. I wish they would all get homes!
Me too.
I would far rather have an older cat. Kittens are psychopaths.
I can’t argue with that. 🙂
OMC! Those kittens are adorable!
🙂
They are so adorable. Looks like a baby Chris.
I didn’t think about that but you are right.
My human always worries about the older cats too.
At least there are some people willing to adopt older cats.
that’s so heartbreaking🥺 those are adorable kittens, though! thanks for sharing🥰
