Here is something I posted in 2014 for Throwback Thursday but I could have just as easily posted it today. Somethings just never change.
I have learned that if you want to get a cat’s attention, start making the bed. They could all be sleeping in the other room but once you start to pull the sheets up, you’ve got a party.
I didn’t always know that bed making was a favorite activity of many cats. I first noticed it with our cat Tigger many years ago. I would pick him up and put him on the floor and he would jump right back up on the bed. This became the routine every morning. I started singing a song by Chumbawamba while making the bed; “I get knocked down but I get up again. You’re never going to keep me down.” I never knew the rest of the lyrics so I would just repeat those to Tigger while I struggled to finish the bed.

Bad Cat Chris 
Teddy hears me taking sheets off a bed from two floors away…….I’ve learned that the routine is one that can’t be messed with no matter how hard I try. He hops up on the partially stripped bed and stays for about 20-30 minutes. I busy myself elsewhere and return in a half hour and he’s gone – I can finish. It’s a “given” and this routine NEVER CHANGES!!!! So funny – I call him my favorite “obstacle”.

I make the bed with the cats on it. I think they like that.
Pumpkin likes to ‘hide’ between the sheet and the coverlet. Like I don’t notice the lump in the middle of the bed. Cats are so weird…. 😀

I guess it’s easier now but less fun.
Kommando always gets upset if I pull the sheets over her when I make the bed and she won’t move
