Cat Television

Of all our cats, Floki is the most interested in television. Often, when Rose and I are watching tv, Floki will watch too. Recently, I was watching a Youtube video about cat products that really peaked Floki’s interest.

Since I was already watching Youtube I decided to do a search for “videos for cats” and played one of the videos that came up. Floki was interested but he didn’t go crazy. I think he was smart enough to know it wasn’t real.

Do you have a pet that likes television?

Sometimes we’ll watch if there’s something that catches our eye. But most of the time we could care less about that big talking box.

One of my cats (Dougy) finds television mostly uninteresting after a short time. The other cat (Andy) is intrigued and fixated on it as long as there is lots of movement on the screen. His favorite is one on YouTube that is nothing more than a short wiggly line moving across the screen. After that, rodents of all sorts get him excited.

Teddy will watch TV occasionally but no longer than a few minutes….he’s got “places to go and things to do” just about every minute of the day (unless he’s napping of course!).

My cat was never a fan of the TV, with some exceptions. But I recently discovered a YouTube channel where they have videos for cats… mainly birds, and stuff like that. My cat is fascinated by these videos. I was afraid she could damage the TV in case of an attack lol… but no, she’s on the couch and does watch the videos like we humans would do. And she won’t move her head away from the videos…

You might want to try it too: https://www.youtube.com/user/GoldfinchGarden/videos

I hope your TV won’t get attacked. 😛 So, be careful. 😉 I wanted to create a post about this YouTube channel on my blog, but I was a bit lazy over the last days to do so.

Oh sorry, I just realized you found these videos the same way like I did… browsing YouTube for “videos for cats”.

It seems we both care a lot about our cats 🙂

What I found funny with Shyna was that she can’t understand how these birds disappear on the left side or right side of the screen. Is this some kind of magic? In fact she checked on the sides of the TV if there are any birds. I also see it where her eyes go in the room… I really laughed when she is doing it.

It must be very mysterious for a cat. Imagine a person in your house that traveled through time from 100 years ago. They would probably look behind the tv too.
