This Little One’s Not Worth The Effort

Frankie came across a snake during our walk last week. He seemed only moderately interested in it as if he couldn’t decide if the little fellow was worth the effort. His behavior was not very cat-like since most cats would go out of their way to catch the smallest insect. Well, at least our cats would.

My little calico Buddy (RIP) discovered a snake’s hole one summer and would wait by it til the snake came out. Then she would bounce around, chirping and whapping the snake on the head. I’d hear her and come distract her. This went on for several days, with the snake (a harmless one but bigger than the one in your video) coiling up to cover its head. Finally I would just pick up Buddy and carry her back in the house. She then decided she would rather stay out, so she moved on to other pursuits.

Nellie LOVED to hunt snakes! This gave me the best laugh! Your words of support at this time of the loss of Nellie has meant a great deal to me. I really thank you for your kindness and offer you my most sincere gratitude and love.
    Much Love
