For #TBT I thought I would share this post from December 7, 2013, a day that almost lived in infamy.
Last night Rose and I were watching television and Chris was chewing on the power cord for the Christmas tree lights. We yelled at him to stop so he then started chewing on one of the light bulbs… while it was plugged in. I had to pick him up and move him two or three times and each time he would give me a loud kitty yell and then go right back to what he was doing. It was like he was enjoying the negative attention.
Now I worry about leaving the tree plugged in while we are in another room. I’m pretty sure he only does it for the attention that it brings him but I still have to treat him like a small child. He is a four-and-a-half year old cat with the maturity level of a three year old child. At this rate, I’m going to mature…

One strange thing that Sam began doing about a month ago was going after power cords – never in his whole almost 17years has he been even remotely interested in them. I’m thinking it’s (a) boredom, or (b) his medication, but I am keeping a close eye on him so he doesn’t become FRIED SAM.

I know the feeling. Floki does that now and I see him amongst all the wiring for my computer all the time.
Maybe it’s a boy thing? My human hasn’t had that problem with any of us or Sparkle or the cat before her – and we are all female.
Could be. I caught Frankie biting the Christmas lights too.

I would stick to chicken or tuna. Wires are bad.
Ernie loves to chew on cords too. He’s chewed the cord to the coffee pot and the little TV we have in the kitchen. Fortunately, he hasn’t fried himself yet and now I have cord covers on the cords. ~The Mom
Cord covers are a good idea.
