There is a local hardware store near us that has two cats, a calico and a tortie. Many people say calicos and torties are unfriendly but this one was all over me for attention while I was having paint mixed.

I have a dilute tortie and when she wants attention–she doesn’t stop until she gets it! This little one is a beauty.
Is she nice to strangers?
She hides as soon as she hears a knock at the door or if the bell rings. She was an outside cat, along with a few others, that my neighbor and I took care of for a few years before I brought her and her closest buddy indoors.

She is pretty. My Penny is friendly even to kids.
I don’t pay too much attention to generalities because every cat is different.

Yes. I have no pictures but their other cat, the calico, is also friendly. I guess they are used to strangers.
She’s a pretty tortie…………we’ve known many torties and they’ve all been snuggle bugs. I suspect how they behave may be related to the treatment they get!

Calicos and torties aren’t necessarily unfriendly. They just have catitude!

Well, the tortie (Angel) and calicos who currently live here definitely have big personalities. The Tabby (Sgt Stripes) is definitely the most laid-back of the groups. His (assumed) aunt the white with black Kommando Kitty was gentle like him. I usually ignore Onyx, the house panther, because of how bonded she is with my daughter.
Here Frankie is our outgoing cat and Floki is more reserved. He is not afraid of strangers but he is more cautious.
That’s not all bad. Humans can be weird
Some torties have spunk and attitude, and some get very friendly. I’m glad this one is a good representative of the business.
