Important News and Free Books

As some of you know, we do a lot of moving. I have lived in at least twenty-three homes in my lifetime, soon to be twenty-four. Rose and I have lived in nine places together. Chris lived in seven of those homes. Rose insists this will be the last house we ever buy.

We currently live in a fifty-plus mobile home community in Florida and have a large historic home in West Virginia that we haven’t been to in three years but plan on spending half a year there starting next June. After surviving two hurricanes this year, we decided we should look for a real house.

We found one south of Tampa in Sun City Center. It is about a hundred square feet smaller than our current home, but it is in great condition.

It is an unusual setup, with the sidewalk on one side and the street and driveway on the other. We plan on screening this area for the cats and us, too.

Coincidentally, my mother moved to Sun City, Arizona, a couple of years ago. I didn’t realize they were connected, but there are several Sun Cities throughout the states. I heard Arizona was the first, and this one was second. I was hoping to find something not in an old folks’ community, but I have learned there are many things to do here so maybe it won’t be bad.

In other news, my books, Bad Cat Chris and Saving Apollo, will be free today only on Amazon. I need reviews on all my books, especially Saving Apollo, so I hope you will help me with that. Also, my books The Last Healer and Falling Star are free on Smashwords throughout December. I recommend The Last Healer since I am now working on book four, and I think you will want to read more when you finish it. Speaking of that, the other two books in the series, Last Rites and Last Chance, as well as my first novel, Identity Crisis, are seventy-five percent off. Of course, these are eBooks. I wish I could offer print books for free, but they are expensive to produce.

Moving is a big undertaking but it’s nice to be forced to “clear out” stuff (which I always did when I was moving) and have a new place to decorate. Your new place is nice……retirement communities have some great features usually – recreation, etc. Congrats!!

    Hugs, Pam

Thanks. There are two large pools, one indoor, plus a library, workout center and lots of clubs. They have two writers’ clubs plus classes on things like stained glass, which I want to learn.

I can imagine that a solid home is far more appealing when it comes to storms. Good luck with all your stories. We don’t do ebooks, but can see why folks chose to publish that way given what we have just spent on book 1, and will be spending on book 2, both in paperback and hardback. Somethings though, like the art and editing, we cant get away from.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday season.

Though we purchased (soft-back) SAVING APOLLO reading has become hard with “old age” (really old) … but it was tucked into a Christmas package sent to youngest grandboy a week or so ago! His parents insist on a low-key no-name online presence, but once I’ve heard from him about it (am sure he’ll give it a good review) we’ll head to Amazon and post something for you … happy new home when it happens! Like y’all, have moved many, too many times, but left the Sunshine State for good about a dozen years ago, bye bye hurrycanes and high insurance …

Thanks so much. From now on we will be spending hurricane season in West Virginia. We still have the insurance to pay but it is less because it is farther from the beach.

Best wishes for your move. You are certainly braver than I would be – although I haven’t ever lived where I had to endure a hurricane either. Purrayers.

Congratulations on the new house. I know how difficult it is to move, especially when roots are set. A friend of ours lost his during the tail end of covid, before foreclosure would have taken it away from him. He doesn’t particularly care for where he lives now, a mobile home park, but it’s better than nothing he says. Once you and Rose are settled in, perhaps a guided tour – at least to see Frankie and Floki in their new place.
